The Present Us

Chapter 2: Three months

After reading, they went to the cafeteria because they were starving to death. Even Ruby felt she was dying from hunger.

“Ruby... let’s hurry up.”

“Yeah. I am doing my best.” She laughed with her nose.

She tiptoed glancing the foods a little far from them. However, some girls blocked their sight. Gesile was very mad about this. It's just, when you were starving yet there were some childish people who still wants to argue and mess with you.

“What are you doing?” Gesile controlled her anger with a lot of difficulty. Perhaps because she was starving or perhaps what was in front of them were the famous bully girls.

Sheina, the bully played with Ruby’s hair as she put a little force in her hands. “I am here to line, go in the back. This is our positions.” She confidently said with a dangerous aura emitting around her.

Ruby couldn’t calm down because her Hypersensitivity begun to activate again. She put away Sheina's hand from her hair. She doesn’t like Sheina playing with her hair.

Sheina crossed her arms madly, “Oohh... this Gemstone Girl is confident today.” Sheina looked back at her friends thinking how Ruby dared to touch her hand.

While they were having annoyed expression, the two walked forward to eat. Thereafter, they successfully gained foods on their tray.

They silently sat on a chair while putting the foods on the table. Sheina with her circle of friends sat beside Ruby.

She rested her elbow on the back of her chair, looking cool, “How dare you went away after touching my precious hand?” She madly asked Ruby. Ruby calmly ate thinking what she had done was not wrong.

Gesile glared at Sheina furiously. “Aren’t you tired bullying us? Everyday and every time you saw us.. You start bullying us.” She emphasized the words Everyday and Every times as she state it.

“I am not talking to you.” Sheina without looking at Gesile cooly said. Gesile was helpless but to glance at Ruby whose silently eating expressionlessly.

Ruby ate a spoonful of soup but suddenly, Sheina pushed her head, as a result, she met the soup she was eating a moment ago by her face.

She deeply closed her eyes. Gesile was stunned and slapped the table with her chopsticks.

Gesile pointed her index finger at Sheina, “You!- You're really too much... Ruby... here let me help you.” Gesile slowly helped Ruby lift her face. “Oh... Goodness! Sheina! Apologize!! Now!!” Gesile shouted and everyone stared at them curious of what’s currently happening.

Sheina looked at her nails not minding Gesile. “Why are you accusing me? It’s her face which met the tray... why are you yelling at me?” She effortlessly said without even a slight guilt. Gesile immediately got a towel in her pocket and wipe away the foods on Ruby’s face.

She gritted her teeth and try to calm herself but she just couldn’t. “What do you mean?! I am the witness! I saw you pushed her face on the tray!” She pointed Sheina.

Ruby breathed and stood up wiping her outfit. “Gesile, let’s not make ruckus anymore.” Ruby pulled Gesile away who was not yet done ranting Sheina. The eyes of the students followed them as they disappear from the cafeteria.

Sheina gritted her teeth looking at the two backs with unpleasant plan in her head. “That rascal Gesile! She'll pay the price, and that Ruby... I will definitely make her life full of hell.” Sheina gritted her teeth.

Ruby with Gesile were outside the cafeteria and Gesile cursed Sheina numerous times.

She looked at her friend who is fuming in anger. “Gesile... that’s fine. I am alright.” She gently said looking at her displeased friend.

Gesile stared at the road ahead. “What’s fine?!! They are abusing you!” Gesile crossed her arms.

“Do you know why they are bullying me?” Ruby curiously asked her friend whose now pondering why.

“....Was it because... of Davien Zhao?” Gesile widenrd her eyes couldn’t believe that Ruby caught quiet a good man. He is handsome, and a little funny.

She nodded. “Yup. They warned me not to date him, but I... you know... Hehe.” She shyly said while gently hitting herself.

“Tss... I am envy... help me find a good man too.” Gesile gently pushed Ruby.

“Hey... don't hurt her.” A male voice sounded in front of them. The two girls automatically looked up and saw a young man, with a bag in his back, wearing white long sleeve with Black pants.

Gesile jokingly pushed Ruby at him and snort at them. “PDA-ing again?” She tilted her head side wards letting them see how they hurt her single heart.

Ruby took a step forward. “... Gesile...”she worriedly called her name. Gesile laughed at them then pushed them away together.

Walking together, the both of them were nervous. Ruby coyly bit her lower lip and lowered her head.

“Why?” Davien asked while staring at her hair.

She was surprised then looked at him. She met his eyes then coquettishly diverted her eyes from him. He chuckled then ruffled her hair.

It has been 3 months since they started dating and everyone were jealous at Ruby very much.

Also, that was the reason why Sheina kept on pestering her. It was not only because her family was anonymous but even Davien liked her.

Davien was not well-off, but he was known as the third placer all the time all over in the campus. The first placer and the Second Placer were known because they were smart, yet they couldn’t compete to Davien if it’s about handsomeness. And the first and second placer accepted that fact a long time ago.
