CHAPTER THREE.

“Mr. Lucian would like to speak with you.” Dom's face hardened. “Aron,” he called out to his personal assistant, “Tell Tiffany to put a halt to the dressing. Something important just came up.” “Yes, Boss” He bowed and left the room. He walked up to his table, irritated, and pulled his smartphone from the drawer. He was enraged at hearing his step-brother's name; the young man was skilled at seizing every opportunity to ruin his enjoyment. After putting his phone into his pocket, someone strode in, “Hey brother, long time no see.” ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Tiffany brought Alina to a room, it was huge and aesthetically pleasing in comparison to the house she and her mother lived in. She felt as if it had been deliberately designed for her, but that thought alone was horrifying. A minute later, someone knocked on the door and peered inside. It was Aron. He signaled to Tiffany who walked out with him. A few seconds later, she returned to the room and approached where Alina was standing. “You're quite lucky on your first day,” She started then threw her hands round the room, “This would be your room.” Alina shot her a look, “Why am I lucky?” The brunette looked at Alina, then laughed softly, “If you want to survive here like the other bitches, you need to tone your character down. All these shits you're displaying won't get you anywhere,” She paused, then added, “Dom Blake is the boss here and he gets whatever he wants, the earlier you learn that, the better it would be for you.” Alina said nothing. She knew Tiffany was right, judging from what she had seen, he could end her life if she acted drastically. “You still haven't answered my question.” She blurted out. Tiffany, who was about to leave, turned and scoffed. “Something important came up, so the boss wouldn't be needing you for now.” Alina heaved a sigh of relief. “That doesn't mean he wouldn't still f**k you.” She smirked and walked out. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ “What are you doing here?” Dom fired as he sat down and lit a cigar. Lucian, his supposed step-brother was still the same, all smiley. This annoys Dom a lot. “Shouldn't you at least start with a greeting, Dominic?” Lucian asked with a smile. Dom rolled his eyes. He hates when he calls his full name, but he chose to ignore it this time. “You know it has really been long since I traveled to the States, so I decided to fly back and surprise you.” Lucian said as he took a stroll round the office. Puffing out the smoke from his mouth, Dom said, “Your surprise was pathetic and you are not welcome here.” His step-brother let out a laugh as he took his place on the couch. “I know you hate to see my face after our father's death but we have a problem at hand and I have come to forge an alliance with you.” Dom puffed out another smoke from his mouth, “Forge alliance against who? Do you think I would help you with whatever mischief you're up to?” He asked coldly. Lucian sat up straight, “I have known you to be the cold-hearted brother–” “–step-brother.” Dom corrected, nonchalantly. “Yeah, right, step-brother,” he continued, “I came here with zero confidence that you would want to help, but this threatens the whole Blake's business you have tried to stabilize for years, so I came to you having no other choice”. A threat to the Blake's business? Dom took a pause to his smoke before turning to face Lucian. He stared at him for a while trying to detect a hint of lie, but none was forthcoming. He knew Lucian was well aware of his desire for power and had expected him to manipulate him into giving up his position as usual, but this time was different; their conversation had taken a whole new turn. His step-brother was here to form an alliance with him; a proposal that was unexpected. “Who dares to pose a threat to the Blake's business?” Dom asked as he dropped the cigar into the ashtray. “The Gray,” Lucian said with a glimmer of optimism. The Gray’s family rang a bell in Dom's head. He had heard that name before. The former high ranking mafia group before the death of the leader and his son. “After the death of his father and older brother, Leonard, the youngest son has taken over and he is coming directly at us.” “Is your information legit? Last time I checked, the business had died down and Leonard had travelled out to further his college education.” Lucian let out a laugh, “Well, I can see you are unaware of the fact that his travel out of the country was to regroup and strengthen his forces,” he paused then continued, “he now stands as the new leader of the latest mafia group rising up in the US. If you still care to know of my sources, I would like to tell you that my spies are very efficient in their jobs.” Dom sank into his chair. If Leonard has started their family business anew, then it would definitely pose a threat to them since it would be more personal than business related. “We need to be prepared. It would be more of a revenge against us for the death of his father and brother.” Lucian said, reading his stepbrother's mind. Dominic hates to hear the word “we”, he loves to accomplish things on his own, but this time around, he knew something had to be done. The ruthless boss kept quiet, taking another cigar from the packet, he lit it and inhaled deeply. Leonard wasn't the problem, but the audacity he has displayed by threatening him and his family business was what pissed him off. When Lucian was gone, Aron entered at his boss' call. “Get me the girl!” He ordered. Alina was seated in the room still trying to figure out her new life when Aron barged in. She shot him an angry look but he ignored it. “The boss needs you now,” he smiled when he noticed the pair of lingerie laid out on the bed, “You should actually dress in a sexy way if you want to make him feel better.”
