I don't know what possessed me to say it, but I did, "Why? Are you helping me? Escape?" She looked at me with tears in her eyes, She sighed heavily, "My sweet girl, I found your backpack two weeks ago, Mr. Gabe asked me to look in the closet for his shoes, and I found it, I hid it deeper in the closet. Had he looked, he would have found it. " Of course, I thought I hid it well. I guess I didn't. The closest was massive. Everything had its place, dark wood with black drawers and gold accents as the handles, all his suits hanging, then he jeans, and t-shirts. On the other side were my items, name brand evening gowns and name brand suits for women, then I had my jeans and a select few shirts I was allowed to wear out. There was a floor length mirror that covered a whole wall, in the center was a island that had drawers for his ties and my under garments along with the intimate clothing he would buy me, not that I wore them I always refused and he would show me what happens when I refused him, he wouldnt take no for an answer. I shuddered at the memory, I looked at her and said, "But why?" "Because you need a better life, I know what happened when you asked Stephen and when you told on yourself. I know all that went on in that room. It may be soundproof, but... Look, we can stay here talking, or you can get going. He should be back around three am. That gives you a four hour head start " Just then, we heard a car pulling up, My blood froze again and Margaret ran and looked out the window in the front room, and she came back rushing, her look said it all. "Hurry or else you will never have this opportunity again!" she hissed. Finally, snapping out frozen state. "Here, take this envelope, open it when you're safe. There's a blue car waiting for you by the servants complex with the keys in the glove box. In the trunk you'll find some clothes. Now hurry, sweet girl! Please, " I stared at her, tears welling in my eyes. I couldn't believe it it felt like I had no one. "Th-thank you!" I whimpered. She just nodded, but I saw tears threatening to fall. "Now, don't look back, go the opposite way you're thinking. He will be trying to determine your moves always go for the not so obvious choice. "But he will know I had help!? I can't put you in danger, no matter how hard I want to leave. "Nonsense, you take me for a fool?! I've planned to help you since I saw the bag, I know just what to say and do, Now GO!" At that, I grabbed and squeezed her, not knowing if she truly had a plan, but I at least wanted her to know how much I appreciated her. I turned and walked out the patio door and ran left to go to the servants complex, sticking to the shadows. All the lights were off, and the motion lights didn't activate. Was this Margaret's doing? Could she have cut off the cameras, too? I wasn't gonna dwell on it. I needed to get to the car and leave. As I ran from tree trunk to tree trunk I saw the car we heard, and my heart sped up again, dark blue 67' chevy mustang, with white walls and stupid black dice in the rear view mirror. Stephen's car. I made myself move, adrenaline pumping, and I could hardly feel the pain anymore. Once I got to the servant complex, I looked around the corner but didn't see the blue car, I felt coldness wash over my body. 'No, dont panick,' I told myself I kept to the shadows and went to the parking garage. There I found a few cars, but something stood out, it was covered with a grey old tarp. I didn't look like anything, but from my angle, I saw the tires. They were brand new. I went over and pulled off the tarp and saw a blue Toyota pruis. I opened the driver door and got in, throwing my backpack on the floor of the passenger side. I opened the glove box and saw the keys, along with a picket pistol and 2 boxes of bullets. I ignored it but ultimately felt at ease. Starting the car, putting it in drive, and made my way to the servant gate. Not knowing what waited me at the gate, I tried to control my shaking hands and body. Finally came to the gate and saw no one. 'Huh?' Then I saw the guards walking back to the post I kept driving with my head forward, trying to look like I belonged. However, they didn't stop me. I just waved me off. I put my hand up as a gesture saying, Thanks. As I drove on the dirt road onto the main road, I couldn't stop shaking. I pushed the gas a bit more and turned to go left, but I stopped remembering Margaret's words. I switched and went right towards the city. As soon as I turned, there were several headlights behind me, but they turned right towards the estate. Kept driving. I'm not looking back in the mirror. Not stopping or slowing down. 'I finally did it...I f**king left! I got out!' Smiling to myself, I kept my eyes forward.
