Chapter 3 New me

937 Words
2 years later.. I'm running through a forest it's almost dusk. Summer days are coming to an end. Im running, but I'm not sure why. I can feel someone chasing me, but I can see or hear them. As im jumping over logs and across creeks, I do it with ease, I can see every little detail the moss growing on the rocks and sides of trees. Beetles crawling around, and fireflies lighted up the sky. I can hear crickets and their songs of night approaching. I'm not out of breath or anything. I feel so energized as I keep running like I was meant to do this. Night had completely fallen and lowed down to a trot. Suddenly, I felt tense, my hair standing at attention, I stopped and began to look around. Didn't see anyone, but I can feel them. I began to look around again and spotted a small area to hide under some rocks and logs. As I do, I can hear rustling and some steps approaching my hiding space. I do my best to control my nerves, a twing snaps, and cause my ears perk up, the everything stops even the crickets, theres just the faint sounds of a creek by, I strain my hearing for any more noises. I don't hear anything, but against my better judgment, I decided to poke out and look. There, I came face to face with a massive seven foot...wolf, but this wolf looked completely different than any wolf I had seen. It stood tall, and its color was redish black but what stood out the most was the end of its ears and tail was...flames! it seemed this wolf was on fire. It tiled its head back and howled loud, deep, and dominating, and as it did, flames started to come out of its mouth. I stood frozen, ready to book it, but when it stopped howling and looked at me, I saw its eyes. They were a bright gold they looked to be blazing fire, glowing in the night. Instead of fear, I felt a wave of calming wash over me. I didn't feel it would hurt me. It was trying to speak to me. With its body language, it was almost bowing. I took a down at myself, and I saw I was glowing, I had a light aura around me, white in color. But what made me panick was the fact that I was on all fours, I had the blackest fur, and I blended in the night forest. I looked up at the wolf, and it seemed to be confused. It tried to approach me, but I backed away and ran as fast as I could. The further I got, the more my heart hurt, like it wanted to be with that wolf, like we blonged together. But I couldn't be a wolf. This had to be a weird dream! Yeah! I had to be dreaming. Trying to force myself to wake up ended up falling on the ground and landing in human form. I hit my head in the on a rock as I skidded against a tree. The last thing I hear are growls and a womens voice beside me, asking me my name. I could see anything or even open my mouth to talk. My vision blurred, and darkness krept in. All I saw was black, so I must have fallen past out. Or so I thought. I could hear faint voices and feel my self lifted up. My head rolled on to a hard chest, and my whole body limp. I could hear more voices. I couldn't make them out, but they sounded worried? angry? surprised? I must have passed out again cause next I remember hearing are metal doors opening and closing, a heart monitor, and shoes squeeking on the floor as someone walked. I felt fingers on my wrist and my heart rate speed up, the monitor giving me away. Where was I? Had he found me? Was I in a hospital? What's that smell? It smells wonderful. I tried to open my eye or my mouth, but my eyes felt so heavy, and my mouth seemed to be like a desert dry and hot. "Don't worry, you're safe, We found you in the woods." You're being treated for a concussion, and your cuts and scrapes are being tended to. Just relax, It helps the healing process. Don't rush it. " A gentle, deep, and raspy male voice said to me. I didn't feel any fear, so my heart rate slowed. Seems my instincts knew I was ok despite me not seeing for myself with my own eyes. I must have fallen back asleep again cause I woke up and I could see the faint sunrise light coming in through the windows. My vision seemed to be a bit blurry, but what I could make out was that I was indeed in a hospital, a private hospital room. I turned my head to look around. It felt so heavy. However, as soon as I could focus, I could see a figure laying on a recliner by the door. They were sleeping. But they looked to be small, definitely not a man. Again, my instincts were taking over, and I felt calm. I decided since they hadn't woken up, I was gonna stay quiet and go back to sleep, We'll see what happens when I wake up again. As I fell back asleep, I started to see that fire wolf again, but this time we were with other wolves surrounding us, gathered together for an event?..
