Tess was stunned. She looked from one man to the other, astonished as she realised they were obviously identical twins. No wonder the man seated across her kept insisting that he had no idea who she was. For real, he actually doesn't know her. She dug Jared's sippy cup from the diaper bag and handed it to him. He stopped crying, and his smile lit up on his cute face. Twins, for crying out loud. How didn't she know the mysterious man she'd slept with has a twin? At that moment, a woman appeared behind the man carrying lots of shopping bags. She dropped the item on the floor and her arms around his waist. She is slander with a perfect hour glass figure, pretty blonde. "Sugar, what's going on?" She asked. She took peep at the stroller and clapped her hands over her mouth. "O.M.G, aren't they the most precious thing?" she goshed. Tess's heart sank to the ground. If the man seated across her wasn't the boys' father, that means she man that just came in must be. A look at his hand showed that he was wearing a good wedding ring that matched one of the woman's fingers. Married. What the, had he been married on the night they were together? Had he ditched his wedding band for a fling while out of town? The thought of that terrified her. The last thing Tess would do was to ever get involved with a married man. "I think maybe the introduction is in order," the man seated said. "I'm Zane Cole, and that's my brother Shane and his lovely wife Tara." "I'm so sorry. I've obviously made some sort of mistake," Tess said as she rose to her feet. Shane. Shane, Kane....there's is no way she'd gotten the name wrong at the wedding. Jayden was right coming here wad certainly a terrible mistake. She didn't want to screw up any marriage. This had suddenly become one awful nightmare, and all she wanted right now was to escape from it all. I'll just take my boys, and we'll be on our way. "Theresa right, may I call you that?" Zane asked. "It's Tess, just Tess," She replied. He motioned her back to the seat. "Tess, please can you sit down. Shane isn't the father of your sons either." "Hell no!" Shane replied. I'd eventually like to have kids someday soon, but it would definitely be with my wife." He looped an arm around Tara's shoulder and smiled at her lovingly. "I guess you're looking for our brother," Zane said. "There's more of you?Tess felt as if she'd entered either a comedy show or the Twilight Zone. Zane gave her a wide smile. "One more. Kane. We're triplets." Tess breathed a sign of relief, although she was more than embarrassed that she'd just given Zane for more personal information than she'd wanted him to know. "Is Kane around?" "He isn't," Zane replied. "He always shows up occasionally at dinner, but he is here almost every weekend," Tara said as she approached the stroller. "May I?" She gestures to Jared, who raised his hands to get out of his cage. Tess nodded and looked at her wristwatch. It was just after noon. "Could you please contact Cane and see if maybe he could come back today?" Otherwise, I'll just take the boys back to the hotel where I'd planned to spend the night. He can contact me there." "No way," Tara said briskly. "The chef gave got the lunch ready, and of course you and the boys will be staying and eating with us." She laughed as Jared grabbed her nose with a giggle. "I don't want to impose,"Tess protested. The whole scenario felt awkward. At that moment, the other boys woke raising chaos. "We definitely need introductions to these sweet boys," Tara said as her husband pulled Jason from the stroller, and Tess got Jeremy. "You have Jared, Shane has Jason, and I have Jeremy."As you can see, they haven't met anyone they don't like yet. Although Jason is definitely the most quiet. She frowned. "I guess it would be best if I return back to the hotel and you can tell Kane to meet us there." "You are here now,"Zane said rather curtly. "You should at least stay for lunch while I see if I could get Kane on his cell phone." As he left the room, Tess felt some of tension that had coiled up in her belly ease. At least Shane hadn't been in room when she'd told Zane that night Kane was her first time. Gosh, how utterly embarrassing. "Shane, why don't you ask one of the maids to see if there's any old high chairs and baby stuff in the basement. Tara said, obviously, a woman accustomed to being in command. "And while you are at it, Tess and I will be in the kitchen and get to know ourselves better." "Sounds like a great idea," Shane replied agreeable as he set Jason on his bottom at feet heads out. Tess felt everything spinning so out of control, and she couldn't quite get a hand of it. At that moment, Zane walked back into the living area. "Kane didn't pick up his call, so I dropped him a voice note to come home as soon as he gets it," he said. "we were just about to take the boys to the kitchen," Tara said. "But we need an extra hand." "The story of my life, its no biggie we can manage," Tess muttered beneath her breath while carrying Jason of the ground. Zane took Jason off her hands. He carried him away from his body,as if he'd never carried a baby ever in his life. At that moment, Tess decided, "I didn't like him that much." The kitchen was enormous, filled with sunshine from the floor to ceiling windows that created one wall. A heavy marble island in the middle of the kitchen with eight bar chairs surrounding it.The kitchen smelled heavenly of casserole dish and chicken. "There's more than enough room for the boys here, let's put them on the floor," Tara said, turning to one of the maids "get them some plastic containers to occupy them while we wait for lunch while I get to know their Mama," She smiled at Tess, a friendly gesture that took some od sharp edge of tension off Tess's heart. One thing for sure Jayden was wrong about the person l would met could be some Fifty years old p*****t. "Where did Shane go?" Zane asked as he gingerly dropped Jason on the black and gold floor tiles. "He went down the basement to see if he can find any high chairs and baby stuff," Tara replied. "I'll go see why he is taking so long." He escaped out the door, taking with him much of the tense energy in the room. With a few minutes, the boys were all busy on the floor with a variety of plastic bowls, lids, and cups to play with. Tess and Tara sat on the chairs while the chef and maids bustled around the kitchen to finish preparing the meal. "How are you able to tell them apart?'' Tara asked as she stood to fetch two glasses of juice from the refrigerator. She placed them on the island, returning back to her chair. "Even though they are identical at first glance, there are still subtle differences. Jared wrinkles his face when he laughs, Jason's hair is darker and curlier. To help people around tell them apart easily, I just dress them in different colours. Jared is blue, Jason is red, and Jeremy is green." "It's the same with Zane, Shane, and Kane," Tara said. "Most people insist they can't tell them apart, but there're definite differences between them. Zane is definitely the top dog the alpha. My Shane is a bit more thinner than the other two and more sweet tampered. Her voice held a lot of love while her face flushed red. "And then you know Kane." Well, that's where the whole problem is. Tess knows nothing about Kane. She is ashamed and embarrassed to admit that she could barely remember anything for that night except being intimate with him. All she did remember from that night was how good the drinks were and how Kane made made sure to keep refilling her glass, and his sweet and flirting attention remained solely on her. "Do you all live here?" A maid placed a large bowl of salad on the table. "This is the family Manor, but their dad died ten years ago while their mom moved abroad five years ago. Zane took over the family business empire." She laughed. "But that's not what you asked. To answer your question, Kane has an apartment in Switzer Street and Shane, and I will be moving out to our new home in a couple of weeks, hopefully." She pointed at the boys, who were gibbering and playing, perfectly and contented at the moment, "we are expecting, are expecting one of these soon." "Wow, congratulations, but be careful of what you wish or has it been confirmed." Tess said with a smile. "I always wanted either a son or daughter, maybe twins. Apparently, the triplet gene is strong." At that moment, Zane and Shane, with the maids carrying high chairs and other baby furniture that looked beautiful but were from another era. "They are still strong even if old," Shane said, "So they could serve its purpose after cleaning them up." "Perfect timing," Tara said as she stood up from the chair. She helped Tess get the boys settled in the high chairs, and they all sat down to eat. Tess retrieved their cups from the diaper bag, and they little guys dug into their applesauce, mashed potatoes and peas with their usual enthusiasm.
