"Chapter 14" The slap

"There is something I want to tell you," Katherine's eyes become immersed.

"What is it about?" Hailey asked with concern.

"This is about a guy," she said, and suddenly the door of their classroom opened with a barrage of yelling.

She turned and found her biggest nightmare standing in front of her, and Ambrose stood there with the principal and the trustee of the campus.

"I am so sorry to interrupt you, students. Today we are having the most honorable person in the city on our campus," the principal said, and Katherine's heart pounded out of her chest.

Ambrose's eyes were penetrating her vitality, but today, his eyes don't feel the same, they become ruthless and asperous.

"Mrs. Arnold is here to ..........," he draws his hand and makes the principal stuck with his words.

Katherine's eyes were wide, and her heart was thrusting in her chest. Her lips started trembling, and her tender body turned flushed.

"Good morning folks," he let out a detached smile.

He swiveled his eyes on Katherine and saw her gulping in anxiety and relishing it.

She looked down, but suddenly, when she looked up, her eyes confronted his subduing gaze.

His eyes were scrutinizing her, and that made her heart pound in her chest.

"Because nobody has seen me, but I think my name is enough for my introduction," he said, and everyone applauded as he is an illustrious person.

Katherine looked around, and that was the moment she came to realize that she had been abandoned.

"I have caught up on the potential and credentials of the students of this university, as I support students who have worth and ambitions," he smirked and gave Katherine a side eye.

"So I am announcing a free top internship for the students of this university," he said, and everyone was stunned and their lips widened. Suddenly, the room was filled with applause.

He looked at Katherine and saw her situation undiscerned.

"These internships are compulsory, and nobody can refuse them. You should not be bumming around and should avail this opportunity;" he makes the air searing, which was scorching her skin.

"Isn't it amazing?" Hailey unknowingly gazed into her apprehensive eyes and found something fishy here.

"Katherine, what happened to you?" She asked but then she found her eyes were in the coldest gaze of Ambrose, her breath was wobbling in her lungs.

"Katherine, where have you gone?" Haley asked, but she was stunned in her place, not moving a bit of her existence.

Suddenly, Ambrose moved forward and placed his slender, deep-veined, thickened knuckled hands on her hand.

All of the abrupt! The room went silent and everyone started to stare at them.

She looks lifeless, and because of his touch, her soul just left her body, she felt her body stop hustling, and her eyes closed on their own.

She fainted at the place where she was sitting, and Ambrose's body froze.

He didn't think about the next and took her into his arms

Everyone was flabbergasted and every eye was stuck on that jamming moment.

He gets into the car while Katherine is in his lap. Henry follows him and gets his place in the front seat.

"I told you, you are making her panic, Henry said.

"The doctor has guided you," Henry let out while being apprehensive.

"I.... I am sorry....," his arms were shaking while seeing her in this situation.

"Why is she like this?" Ambrose asked.

"You don't know anything about it; if you came to know it, you would be anxious as well." Henry knows everything about her.

"What are you talking about? How do you know all this about her?" Ambrose was suspicious.

"Do you know each other?" Ambrose asked.

"No, she doesn't know anything about me, I just found all the information about her," Henry said, and hid his flashing emotions.

Suddenly she moved her eyes.

"She is moving her eyes," Ambrose said, and clutched her hand.

She slowly opened her eyes and found Ambrose just above her head.

She jumped in turmoil and saw herself in his arms while sitting in his lap.

Her eyes went wide and she shouted as loud as she could.

The driver stopped the car and she ran out of it.

Henry smirked while seeing her extremely detached from Ambrose.

"How dare you carry me like this?" She asked while her feet were not in a position to carry her.

"What the hell, I was just helping you," he said and she frowned with a silly smirk.

"Don't you dare to tell me that your intentions are pristine, I know what you are aiming for," she said.

"Hey, Katherine just relax, you are taking me wrong," he said.

"Wrong, are you serious, you are eagerly desirous of me, and you are telling me that I am taking it wrong?" She said.

"Katherine, why don't you understand? I am perfect for you, we are perfect for each other, I know I was wrong but now I understand," he said and stepped close to her, she felt his covetousness, and suddenly without thinking she slapped him in his face, everything just stopped, Henry took the account of the scene and stepped out of the car.
