We exited the conference room to find Annabel and Toni waiting while they talked to some officers. It seemed like they might have been flirting. But when I thought about it, it may have just been the officers flirting, not the girls. I didn’t care but I also didn’t want the cops to think they stood a chance.
Annabel and I didn’t get jealous if the other talked to everyone in the world. We knew first of all that we love each other. And the other thing is we have been through some stuff in the past and have promised each other that if there was any question of our feelings we would talk about it before resorting to cheating. Simply as that. No going behind the other back, no late night meetings, phone calls from unknown numbers. This left things so open that we didn’t question what
