Finding Weyer on the roof was a relief. He was staring out at the night sky, which was impossible to see through the smog, and then Kaisa was behind him, pressing a cloth to his face. Weyer dropped. Alec watched as Kaisa managed to catch him, so she was obviously stronger than she looked. “Okay, so what’s the next step, Beyett?”
“Get him out of here.” Alec raked a hand through his hair. “We can go over the roofs. Hatchwater’s not too far away.” She stared at him, and he smiled. “Hatchwater’s my ship. Once, a very long time ago, she belonged to my father, and certain issues mean that I find it simpler to call her Hatchwater rather than the name he gave her.”
