Kaisa’s contact was waiting for her, and Alec sat at the bar, not wanting to get in the way. As he sipped his whiskey, hoping that they wouldn’t have to deal with anyone dropping in to say hi, he watched her, seeing the emotions on her face change as she spoke. It was obvious she was unhappy about whatever he was telling her. That was to be expected. Neither of them believed for a moment that she was going to get the full amount she was offered, but she thought she’d be able to get at least half. Although he hadn’t said it, he didn’t think that would be the case. He thought she’d be lucky to get ten percent of what was originally offered.
Finally, raking a hand through her hair, she stood, and then stomped over to him. Alec raised an eyebrow.
