Chapter 13
Leaving the Raven in the distance, having gone further out of their way than Alec expected them to, he slumped down into one of the seats. Another bounty lost. He knew what was going to come of it, because it had happened before. Kaisa was right when she said the two of them would need to work out who they were hired by in order to protect themselves. He glanced at her. She was staring down at the drive in her hand, looking just as unhappy as he felt, and he knew she was in as much danger as he was. Possibly even more.
“We’re going to work out how to deal with this.” Alec smiled at her. “It might not be easy, but that doesn’t mean it’s going to be impossible.”
