A Fever

Nara I hate to admit it, but Kian was right. I woke up feeling weak, cold, and hot all at once. I think I have a fever, and I look it. So I'm just waiting it out. I couldn't go to school and missed a chemistry test that accounted for half of my final exam. I hope my teacher will let me retake it. The packhouse is quiet right now because everyone has either gone to work or school. I make myself ginger tea, hoping to ease my stomach. I figured some warm water would help. I sit on a barstool, sipping it slowly. Suddenly, my head starts to pound, and I rest it on the counter. "Are you alright?" a voice startles me, and I sit up. It's Max, the pack's beta, looking concerned. I get off the stool and rush to rinse the mug. "Yes," I answer Max, trying to go past him, but he blocks my path. H
