Selena Patrick, who left in a huff, did not immediately drive away. She sat in the driver's seat, feeling wronged and heartbroken, crying for a long time.
Gale Jonathan had been watching her car from a distance. "Mr. Maugham, Madam hasn't left; she's still in the car. Should I go check on her?" Gale Jonathan asked, rubbing the bump on his forehead, speaking to Edward Maugham.
The man on the other end of the phone lashed out at him, "What do you think? If anything happens to her, I'll hold you responsible."
"I'll go right now."
Without delay, Gale Jonathan hung up and walked over to the car. He gently tapped on the window, and the woman inside looked up. He offered a conciliatory smile, "Madam, Mr. Maugham is very worried about you. Are you alright?"
