As Yimi made her way through the dark forest, the shadows seemed to close in around her. She couldn’t help but feel a sense of unease creeping up her spine, and her heart raced with every snap of twigs under her feet. As much as she tried to focus on the task at hand, her mind kept drifting to the dangers that lurked in the forest, particularly those of enemy Lycans. She knew that she had to get the letter to Lucien, but the thought of encountering an enemy Lycan along the way made her hesitate.
Yimi’s cautious nature had been ingrained in her since childhood. She vividly remembered the countless times she was scolded by her parents for being too timid, too hesitant to take risks. But Ashina had always been her protector, standing up for her when the other children teased her for her small stature and weak constitution. Yimi knew she owed her sister a debt of gratitude that she could never repay.
However, as Yimi made her way through the dark forest, her cautious nature clashed with her sense of duty towards Ashina. She couldn’t help but think about the danger that lay ahead and the potential consequences of being caught. The twigs snapping under her feet echoed loudly in the silence, making her heart race, and her mind conjured up memories of their childhood games, where they would play hide-and-seek among the trees. But this was not a game anymore, and Yimi couldn’t shake off the feeling of being watched by something or someone in the shadows.
As Yimi trudged through the dense forest, her legs aching with every step, she felt the urge to give up and turn back. But just then, a faint snap echoed from behind, causing her to halt in her tracks. She spun around, her heart throbbing in her chest, scanning the shadows for any signs of movement. Was someone really trailing her, or was it her mind toying with her? Her eyes narrowed as she strained to hear any sound, but there was nothing.
She resumed her march, picking up her pace as the sense of being followed lingered in her mind. As she made her way through the murky woods, she saw a faint glimpse of her childhood memories. She and Ashina had often ventured into the woods to play, and their mother had warned them of the dangers lurking within. Yimi’s heart fluttered as she tried to shake off the memory, but the feeling of vulnerability still clung to her.
Suddenly, a colossal figure emerged from the darkness, towering over her like a giant. Yimi let out a blood-curdling scream, her body shaking with fear. She stumbled backward, tripping over a tree root and falling to the ground. The impact jolted her, and her vision blurred as her head hit the ground.
The figure stepped closer, and Yimi’s mind raced with a thousand thoughts, all of them centered on survival. She could smell the musky scent of a lycan, and her instincts kicked in, telling her to run. But she was frozen with fear, unable to move as the figure loomed over her.
The Lycan bent down, his breath hot against Yimi’s face as he growled, “You smell delicious.” His eyes glowed yellow in the darkness, and his fangs glistened in the moonlight.
Yimi’s heart pounded in her chest, and she could feel the blood draining from her face. She tried to scramble away, but the Lycan grabbed her by the ankle and pulled her back towards him.
“Please, don’t hurt me,” Yimi begged, tears streaming down her face.
The Lycan chuckled, his grip tightening on her ankle. “Hurt you? Oh, I won’t hurt you, little lamb. You’re too valuable to waste.”
Yimi’s mind raced as she tried to process his words. Valuable? What did he mean by that?
“Please let me go,” she whimpered, pulling against his grip.
The Lycan smirked. “Oh, I’ll let you go, but not before I have a taste.” He leaned in, his tongue snaking out to lick a tear from Yimi’s cheek.
The Lycan laughed at Yimi’s fear, relishing in the terror he was causing her. “What’s the matter little wolf? You seem scared,” he taunted, circling her like a predator closing in on its prey. “You should be scared. You’re all alone in the woods with me, a powerful Lycan. You’re lucky I’m in a good mood tonight. Otherwise, you would already be dead.”
Yimi’s mind raced, trying to come up with a plan to escape, but her fear had paralyzed her body. She couldn’t move, couldn’t even speak. She was at the mercy of this monstrous creature.
As Yimi sprinted through the forest, the sounds of her own ragged breath and the pounding of her heart filled her ears. She could feel the Lycan’s hot breath on her neck, and the thought of his razor-sharp teeth sinking into her flesh made her shudder with terror. She pushed herself harder, feeling the burn in her legs and lungs, but she refused to slow down. Suddenly, a sharp pain shot through her ankle, and she stumbled, tumbling to the ground. She screamed in pain and fear as she felt the Lycan’s weight pin her to the ground.
Yimi thrashed and kicked with all her might, but the Lycan’s grip was too strong. She caught a glimpse of his face in the moonlight and saw the cold, calculating eyes of an enemy. She knew this was no ordinary Lycan - this was a trained killer, and she was his prey.
The Lycan bared his teeth and growled, savoring the fear in Yimi’s eyes. “You thought you could outsmart me, little wolf,” he sneered. “But you’re no match for my kind.”
Yimi’s heart raced as she struggled to break free, but the pain in her ankle made it impossible to move. She closed her eyes and braced herself for the worst.
The Lycan leaned in closer, his hot breath on her face. Yimi could feel his razor-sharp teeth brushing against her skin, and she let out a whimper of terror. But just as she thought it was all over, there was a sudden flash of light, and the Lycan recoiled with a deafening howl.
Yimi opened her eyes to see a man standing over her, a blazing torch in his hand. It was Lucien, her savior. He had arrived just in time to save her from the jaws of this disgusting beast. The Lycan snarled at Lucien, but he didn’t flinch. In fact, his mere presence exuded a sense of danger and menace that sent shivers down Yimi’s spine.
“You’re trespassing on our land, scum. Leave now, or suffer the consequences,” Lucien growled, his voice low and menacing.
The Lycan hesitated, but the dangerous glint in Lucien’s eyes made it clear that he meant business. “This isn’t over,” with one last snarl, the Lycan slinked back into the shadows, disappearing into the night.
