Hernando finished dressing and headed down the stairs to the dining room. Carlos and Captain King were just stepping off the bottom step. “Buenos días,” Hernando greeted them.
The two men turned. Captain King responded, “Good morning!”
Hernando joined them, and they entered the dining room together. Carlos said, “I thought the mayor would be here.”
“I was going to tell you,” said Hernando, “He received a message early this morning. He and his wife had to return to San Diego.
“Well, let us eat then we can watch the young men show us how well they can perform.”
