It was the morning of the third day after the battle. The sun was just cresting the horizon. The ground was still wet with dew, and there was a hint of fog hugging the low areas. The boy, Raul, looked up and saw three men approaching the hacienda on horseback. With a look of joy upon his face, he ran to the front door of the hacienda where he was met by one of the Indian servants. “They have returned!” he shouted loudly in his excitement.
