At the church, Father Lopez greeted the wedding party. After everyone had dismounted, Father Lopez led the way to the church, followed by Francisca, Crow, her father, and mother. The wedding guests followed. In the church, Father Lopez stood waiting while Crow and Francisca knelt on pillows before him. Father Lopez wrapped a silken tasseled sash, fringed with gold, about their shoulders in a figure-eight, binding them together for the blessing of the priest. The priest turned to LeRue, who handed him an ornate wooden box. Father Lopez opened the box revealing thirteen gold coins representing Christ and his 12 apostles.
