Chapter 23 When the sun rose, Kris saw the true extent of the destruction. Limping through the camp, vengeance on her mind the night before, she hadn’t seen how bad the battle truly had been. The bodies had been cleared, though occasionally a splash of blood or a weapon lying on the ground reminded Kris just how deadly this battle had been. But despite all that, her eyes weren’t on the wreckage, and her mind wasn’t focused on what had happened. She was focused on Kaven, cuddled tightly in a blanket, wrapped in her arms.
