Me and granny are still packing my clothes. Ready to leave this place any moment. It's amazing that even the Alpha, hates me. Now I know everyone hates me, and there's no reason for me to stay. Surely they will be happier without me.
"Nana, why did you leave the party?" I ask, still surprised to have found her here.
"How can I continue enjoying the party after everything that had happened . Today was supposed to be your day, and you were the one supposed to enjoy it not me. And I couldn't stand that arrogant Alpha of yours," she replies. " He just continues like nothing happened. Flirting with that stupid sister of yours," she adds feeling the disgust. Though I don't really blame him. Why would he worry for someone like me? He hates me, he even kicked me out of the pack and left me to fend for my self.
"Thank you Nana. You really are the best," I hug her fighting back hot tears. She's the only who truly loves and is not afraid to show it . Everyone doesn't care, actually they may be happy that I got rejected today.
"Let's finish up so we can leave this place," she says. Indeed we pack the last of my stuff. She offers to give me a drive since it's already late.
"You're going to stay with me at my place," she tells me. Shocked, I'm quick to refuse the proposal since I know it's not going to work out.
"No Nana, your Alpha wouldn't allow someone like me on their pack," I tell her. Even my own Alpha couldn't accept me, why would anyone else?
She chuckles in response. " Ohh you. I'm no longer at Moon Crest Pack. I leave alone in another town, its an old abandoned farm. We can stay together there, I don't have a problem with you staying. You can stay for as long as you want, " she offers. And that sounds like an amazing offer. It would be fun to really spend my time with her, knowing she won't treat me badly like everyone else.
" No Nana. It's about time I learn to stand up on my own. I can't be dependent for the rest of my life. And I might as well do it now, " I reject the offer. I know it's good, but it's even better that I find myself in life and not stay dependent.
" But you don't even have a job. Where are you going to go? " She sounded really shocked to hear me say.
" I don't know. Probably another country? And I'll have to do is look for a job. Hopefully find a college. Remember how I always told you I want to be a doctor? " I reply.
" But you can never burden me Amber."
" But it feels like it, you're already helping me. You don't have to worry Nana, I'll be fine, " I assure her. She still didn't seem anywhat convinced.
"At least I'll help you out, until you're okay."
"Thank you Nana. We should be going now. I don't want the Alpha to personally kick me out," I tell her. We pack my bags inside the car and soon we are driving away. I didn't even bother to say goodbye to my own family, I know they don't care.
And somewhat feels amazing that I'm leaving my pack. Like a heavy weight has lifted off my shoulders. I feel free for the first time.
Staring out the window I watch our territory disappearing into nothingness. The place I usually call home. I should have left this place a year ago, if I didn't have to repeat a grade. When Kamila failed, forcefully I also had to repeat. Even got blamed for it, and even today I still don't understand how it was my fault.
It might be terrible but there are some moments I'll miss. Like my favorite waterfall down in the woods.
Not many people know about it, since they already have a swimming spot, which I was not allowed in .
And our pack is really big, I believe maybe only the pack scouts know about it, but don't give it much attention. But I did, when ever days were hot and I needed to free my mind.
Or my favorite oak tree. The tallest of them all. Where I'd climb and scout the whole territory from it. I could see almost everything, including the rogue territory on the other side of the river.
At times I was scared they would attack and no one would be close enough to save me. But they never did, maybe they are too scared to. And I really never paid much attention to it, only continue to enjoy myself.
But I can always make new memories. And maybe even make better ones.
We drive the whole, I don't know for how many hours. Even during the day we were still driving. We would only stop to relax, have something to eat and some bathroom breaks.
We only stopped driving the next morning. And I'm definitely sure this is not my world. It's mostly humans, but maybe I'll blend in just fine. Humans don't know who I am, and surely don't care that as long it's kept that way.
I think I might fit in just fine. All I need is a place to stay and () my dream. Thinking about jobs, that might take a while.
"Look I already got you a hotel room for the week. That's where you'll stay while I figure out a few things," Nana says. " I'll be gone for gone for a few days, and I'll come back to check up on you," she continues sounding very worried. " Remember, if it doesn't work out, you're coming to stay with me."
"You have nothing to worry about Nana. Everything will be fine. Just do what you have to do, " I say to her.
" Let me help you inside, " she offers. We both take my bag inside. The receptionist was very nice and soon we were inside the room. And it looks amazing and so expensive.
" Nana this looks expensive, " I cry unable to keep my eyes from wondering.
" I just want you to be comfortable my baby. Look, you should relax in the meantime. It's been a long ride. I'll have to make a few calls and see what I can come up with."
" This place is huge. I can't believe I'll be staying here." I just couldn't close my mouth about it. I'm over the moon with excitement.
" I'm going, but I'm coming back Amber. "
" Go, Nana. I'm fine. I believe nothing will happen to me in here. You have to stop worrying yourself. "
" I love you, okay. I love you so much, " she embraces me.
" I love you too Nana, more than anything in this world, " I respond to the hug.
" Are sure you're going to be okay?"
" You're worrying to much. I'm not a child anymore, " I say.
" I'm flying, so it shouldn't take long. I'll call the hotel as soon as I land." She finally agrees to leave. " I love you sweetheart. " She waves as she walks away. I give an assuring smile that I'll be okay.
A wave of excitement washes me as I explore the room. I feel like screaming, because I'm finally free. This feeling is just amazing.
