Maid At School

1297 Words
My name is Amber. A member of the Moon Shadows pack. One of the strongest pack in the country. I'm An Omega, the unfortunate part, the lowest ranked on my pack. And when I say the lowest, I mean the lowest. The first and only member who haven't shifted at my age in this pack, well that's the impression everyone got. I'm cursed, which everyone in the pack believes. And a curse, especially to my family. So I don't really have much of a beautiful encounter with those who have higher rankings, including my family and schoolmates. It's been really hard for me. Both at school and home. I don't really have any friends, I'm almost alone in this world. Just can't wait to graduate and disappear, probably for good. This has been the worst 18 years of my life, and I'm surprised that I'm even still alive. It can only be worse since my family has a powerful bloodline. They are second ranked in the pack, my father and mother, and you can only imagine how embarrassing that is for me, but mostly for them. So disappointed that they would deny me as their child if they could. Well, since they couldn't deny me that, they at least had to deny me the Beta title. With such repetition, they couldn't accept being dragged into the mud because of me. Another piece of information to the story is that, I have a twin sister. Born second, making me the firstborn. But not many people know that, they know my sister as the first. And the little Beta princess. Leaving me as the black sheep of the family, or rather the whole pack. She's strong and has every qualities I need to have the title. Making her the perfect candidate. Winded, I rush into the classroom, grabbing everyone's attention without even trying. The exam had already started 10 minutes ago, I'm extremely late. "Thank you for disrupting the class, Miss Summers. Now take your sit," Mrs. Jameson sneers, as she turns back to the blackboard. "I'm deeply sorry, Mrs. Jameson, I…" "I said sit down!" She growls as she turns to give me a very disturbing glare. I flinch and immediately run to my sit with my head down. "I hear wolfless people are terribly stupid…" One of the class members whispers, but enough for everyone to hear. A swarm of chuckles erupts everywhere around the class. "Quite down everyone. This is an exam," Mrs. Jameson gains order, even herself with a little smile on her face. My eyes soon land on Kamila with a smug of satisfaction in her face. She couldn't be more proud since she's the reason I was late today. Especially since we're writing our finals. She would love nothing more than to see me fail my trials. Even though I'm not even writing for myself. It's funny how they always manage to switch my grades with Kamila's. I just only have to pray that she studied for the exam. Being an Omega at my household makes me also a servant practically. And before I even have a chance to prepare for school, I must make sure I serve everyone breakfast and that I leave the kitchen spotless. The princess today made sure to make my life difficult. Ordering me to make something that I've never even prepared in my life. Not even laid eyes on it. And I had to make sure it was perfect or else not only do I get to be late for school, I don't get to eat for the whole week. To be honest, I'm even surprised how I have meat on my bones with all the fasting I do so often. It's just terrible. I just try hard to get my mind off it and focus on the paper in front of me. It's more important that I do well on my grades than thinking about my terrible family. This is my only chance to escape this place. **** Soon it's lunchtime and students scramble everywhere. Here I am waiting at the line for Kamila, Miranda and Layla. Well, I'm not only a maid at home, but at school too. I have to make sure to bring them their lunch, before I can even get to eat mine. Even sometimes finding the food already finished. And they can only careless that I don't eat. Strategically holding the three plates in my hand, I move to their desk. Deeply praying that no one ' accidentally ' bumps into me and sends the whole thing flying. That happens more often, meaning I have to wait on the line again. Because if I don't get them food, I know I'm screwed. "It's still amazing how you can hold three trays at once. It proves you were born to be a servant," Kamila chuckles as I place the plate down. I have nothing to say, even if I do, it's best not say. "Go now. I don't want people thinking me and you are friends," Kamila sends me away, quick to show disgust at my presence. I'm glad, actually. If I hurry, I might find myself something to eat. "Ahhh!!!" Clearly not focusing where they are going, someone crushes into me, knocking me down to the floor and grease stew all over my clothes. My clothes are already weathered, I can't afford grease stains. Soon, laughed bursts everywhere around the room, as I attempt to pick myself up. Soon I'm dealing with a hurricane of food, flying towards my direction. All the slimy, sticky liquids drenching my hair. This was their perfect opportunity to get the wolfless girl, and I can make a good guess who prompted it. Goddess, I swear, it's only happening because I'm wolfless, and I'm the weakest link in the pack. Otherwise, I don't know what I'd have done at this moment. Heaving a heavy breath, I start walking away. I can't even go to get food at this point. I have to get my self clean. "… She looks like a zombie," I hear, with complimenting laughter. "A wolfless zombie," they add. I try so hard to get them out of my mind as they continue to make fun of me. I hurry away and look for the bathroom. Seeing myself in the mirror, I indeed look like a zombie. All the different colors in my hair didn't sit so perfectly, like a stomach sick zombie failed to eat my brain and puked on my head. The film of grease has perfectly ruined my favorite sweater. I look disgusting. I got it from my grandma as a present. Out of everyone, she's the only who loves me. Actually, loves me the most. If I could, I would go and stay with her. But, who would want someone like me on their pack. She's a member of another pack, and one of the most powerful. It's my mother's old pack. However, when she found dad, she had to move. Well, that's the beautiful thing about finding your mate. You follow them wherever, I guess. I take off the sweater and set it aside. Dipping my hair into the basin, I start washing it. I might not get everything out, but it's better than having confused colors in your hair. Using the inside of my sweater, I start drying my hair. It breaks my heart, but I know I can't go to class my hair dripping wet. After a long moment of drying my hair, I'm partially happy. Using my wet hands I try to clean stains all over my body. Now I have to go and stand outside hopefully to dry off everything. I can't even get anything to eat at this moment. Life is just remarkable.
