Chapter ThirteenPresent day Raven pressed the knife he had gotten from Alexia into his forearm and dragged it across his skin. The flesh broke open and a thin stream of crimson made a trail along his arm. He watched as small puddles of blood welled up and then snaked along his flesh. He took a deep breath, and in one swift movement ripped the blade across his skin again. He couldn't help crying out, and dropped the knife to the floor, pressing his free hand against his gushing forearm. The pain was excruciating. He lifted his arm to see blood seeping out, his hand sticky with the dark red fluid. It was not as sharp as he'd hoped; he had to press hard to get a deep cut.
