Kyle volunteered to take the first shift. He wanted to make sure that Leah was fine. He doesn’t think he could love any pup of his own any more than he loved that little girl. He stood, hidden, outside Cassie’s garden listening to Leah giggle as a human boy played with her.
The boy pretended to lose to her every time making her feel happy at her accomplishments ….. that alone was enough for Kyle to find him tolerable. Anyone who genuinely enjoyed a child as much as the boy seemed to, could not be all bad, now if he would just leave their Luna alone then Kyle will have no disputes with him ….. may even like him.
