Marina’s POV I stirred, trying to open my groggy eyes. My entire body ached as if a road roller had mowed it down. I just couldn’t get up. Panic settled in my heart and I forced myself to open my eyes and look around the place I was in. It was a small log cabin, but it was too dark to understand where it was. There was no sign of my father anywhere. Did he dump me here to die? An awful stench in the air made me feel dizzy. Hunger pangs forced me to get up. I had to eat something if I wanted to survive. Pulling myself up slowly, I tried to get off the bed, but excruciating pain hit every muscle of my body. What did my father inject into my body? It took me a lot of effort to reach the door. I glanced around the tiny log cabin and scrunched up my nose with disgust. It was dirty, and dust
