9TH LIFE ( CHAPTER ONE completion )

Seth was not totally okay believing the cat wasn’t dead, he had a lot of questions because he was pretty sure that cat was dead. There was no way anything could survive its head being smashed like that so how did it sundenly disappear. While searching for an explanation he clearly wasn’t getting, he assisted his father to bring out the rest of their properties from the truck. Before they wrapped everything up to leave he asked the driver and his assistant if they saw the cat got up and they said no. They appeared as puzzled as him over what just happened. After they said their byes and left, on their way going the assistant was telling the driver about some of the weird and hideous things he’s heard about this town and asked how someone can bring his family to come live here. The driver scolded his input saying he doesn’t know that conditions can take anyone anywhere. And also that those things being said about the town were not really confirmed so it is more like rumors. But the assistant was not taking that. He proceeded to making his case by bringing up the fact that since they drove into this town and now going, they’ve not seen any person outside, but before he could ask the driver if that wasn’t strange enough to him the truck came to a full immediate stop. While looking around to know why the driver had suddenly stopped he saw a little girl at the middle of the road standing next to a cat. The assistant asked the driver if that was not the dead cat from the house they just left. It sure looked exactly like it but the driver was more concerned about the little child standing in the road and asked his assistant if he’s not seeing that. The assistant was already scared because of the terrifying things he has head about this place. After horning and indicating for the child to move out of the road and got no response, the driver decided to go outside to help her. His assistant outrightly objected to that and suggested that they just drive through the side and go but the driver refused. The’ll loose daylight in a couple hours time and the assistant would prefer they don’t spend the night here. When the driver got close to the child and calmly tried asking her to leave the road that it’s dangerous, the cat jumped on his face and started cutting him hard with it’s claws. The assistant who was still inside the truck was screaming in shock at the little girl who suddenly appeared in the driver’s seat, she was looking at him and smiling while the truck started moving very fast towards the driver. He didn’t know how he can stop it because he couldn’t for the life of him bring himself to touch the steering with that child sitting there. While the driver was also screaming trying to fight the cat off him he noticed a growing sound coming close to him and before he could do anything about it the truck ran him over and killing him instantly before coming to a stop. The assistant tried to open the door so he can run for his life but the door wouldn’t open. The little girl started pointing and laughing at him, the next thing he saw was about four cats on his body cutting him with their claws. He tried but couldn’t fight them off, he sat there and screamed while they pealed his flesh off his face till he died. Back at the house, just Few seconds after that incident, Eva called out for her mom to come see people outside. It was the weirdest thing. It was almost like they’ve been outside the whole time. Seth was so creeped out by the whole thing. How can it go from being a total ghost town to suddenly having people everywhere outside going about their businesses. His Mom told Eva that she can see the people she was looking for now. It will be getting dark soon so they decided to leave any greetings till tomorrow. After dinner they all went to their rooms to get some rest. Tomorrow is a big day for all of them. There’s only one school in the town. Seth and Eva are to be registered into their various classes tomorrow being Monday. The mom was going to start work as a nurse in the town clinic while the Dad was able to secure a teaching job in the school where Seth and his sister will be going. The salary is nothing compared to his previous job but it will be enough to get them going while he works on getting something more to add. Or at least that’s the plan. Michael is sharing a room with Eva while Seth and his parents have their own separate rooms. Seth really didn’t like it here, everything about this place was uncomforting. He wasn't so happy about leaving everything behind especially his friends and his girlfriend. But despite how much he wished to, he had no control or say over them moving. The only thing he could do was occasionally express his total disagreement with leaving their lives to this place he can only describe so far as a haunted town. Earlier that day after getting set up inside when he was doing some research, he saw some questionable things that people had to say about this place. Things about possession and spiritual attacks. He brought it up to his parents suggesting that maybe they shouldn’t have come here but his Father scolded him saying he is being insensitive to their situations, that he should be more supportive but instead all he has done so far is nag about the friends he misses. His mom would have preferred a much calmer response from her husband but he wasn’t totally wrong. Obviously their financial situation is the reason they are here and she hoped that Seth being the grownup of their children would see that. She told him that most of all those things he’s reading about this place are just rumors with no evidence to prove it. Then she suggested that he should give himself some time that he might come to make new friends and love it here. The night was dark and extremely cold. And among the strange things that has happened today, the absence of the usual noises from crickets was something that troubled Seth. But not wanting to be alarmed by what that might mean he tried to put himself to sleep only to wake up in the middle of the night from a bad dream. His parents heard him scream and immediately ran to his room to check on him. “Honey are you okay”? his mom asked. Seth was quiet, breathing heavily and was just staring at the window. His bed was soaked with sweat. Whatever he saw in his dream was so terrifying that even after he was sure it was a dream he was still pretty shoken up. His father told him not to worry, that it’s just a dream and that he’s fine now while his mom was already petting his back to comfort him. After getting a hold of himself all he could say was why did they have to move here. His mom softly told him that he knows why and encouraged him that things will start making sense pretty soon. His father asked him what the dream was about but Seth didn't answer. With everything happening he was convinced that moving here was a bad idea but that was something he couldn't tell his parents, because he know that telling them what he saw was only going to make him appear more paranoid given his recent complains since they arrived here. All his parents could do was console him and say a little prayer for guidance before leaving him to go back to sleep. But sleeping now was not an option for him after what he saw in his dream. Throughout when his parents were inside his room trying to make him feel better, there was a big black cat outside his window that was just looking at him. But because of what he dreamt about he couldn’t even ask them if they could see it too. Now he’s just hoping for the sake of his mind that his eyes are the thing messing with him and there’s nothing there. He decided not to look at the window at all so he took his phone out and covered his ears with headphones to distract himself with music.
