“I’ll be flying to South Carolina this afternoon,” Karen announced at the breakfast table with Jay and Roxanne. “Today?” Roxanne asked, slightly surprised. She had been in New Hampshire just over a week. After a couple nights in her aunt’s home, she’d moved into the guest room on Jay’s floor. She’d pleaded Rachel’s incessant chatter as the reason for moving. She said she needed to collect her thoughts. Karen was nice enough nice enough when one saw her, Roxanne had decided.
