Small red lights on the wings blinked at intervals. The down-flaps shifted slightly, angling the aircraft on a descent that broke up more ranks of clouds, most bright and fluffy white, some dark and thickening with ice, dust, and precipitation. Tempests in infancy. The ground appeared a few blinks later, terra firma that looked especially sharp after hours of immersion in the fluffy canopy of potential thunderheads.
