The autumn rain had been incessantly falling for four consecutive days, and the wilderness outside of Vassar's Gate looked even more bleary than before. The mud had gotten so thick that it covered half of a wagon's wheels. Even the most active of adventurers would not want to go out in such hellish weather. Caravans were forced to make a stop in the city while merchants, fearful of missing their deliveries, simply frowned and covered their wagons with oilskins. This new city had not existed for long and did not have paved roads like in the capital.
