In a panic, I grabbed a piece of clothing nearby and covered my face.
Mr. Davis turned around—and froze. He recognized my body. It wasn't Tina's.
"You're not Tina. Who are you?!"
I had to hide my identity. I pitched my voice higher and changed my tone.
"Mr. Davis, I—I didn't know it was you either. I was supposed to meet my boyfriend here tonight... I tried to leave, but you thought I was playing hard to get, and—"
I let my voice trail off, stealing a glance at his expression.
He seemed to find it hard to process. He held his head in his hands, his eyes unfocused, before finally calming down after a long silence.
