Chapter 14
“I’ll be out of here in just a minute,” was all Chris could think to say in that dreadfully awkward moment when she stumbled out of the bathroom wearing one of the white terrycloth hotel robes, overwhelmed with the awful feeling that she’d done something wrong. Her hair was a mess, and she could still feel the effects of having Jake inside her. She dragged her gaze over the bed where she’d been moments earlier. Of course, her clothes were strewn all over the floor by the bed with his. It wasn’t a large room, so he couldn’t hide anything.
“Chris, wait…” Jake was saying, but she couldn’t look at him. She heard the door close and glanced back once to see him stepping toward her, but Jill was standing by the door, and Chris felt she was the one who wasn’t supposed to be there.
