Familiars

*Jin's POV*

Luna had fallen asleep sitting in the floor of the living room with her back against the wall, Kiba in her lap snuggled into her like he would his mother. Jin had draped a blanket around her shoulders a pillow by her side, in case she fell over. She must have been exhausted from releasing all of that power at one time.

"She has surprised me today," Akira walked to her and fixed her to lay on her side with the pup in her arms. "She has my power than what I had initially thought. No one trying out magic for the first time finds their element that quickly, let alone uses it on humans or objects. She truly is a Goddess."

Collin crossed his arms as he smiled at her sleeping there, "Yeah, she's a total bad ass alright."

Ryan grumbled like a child whose had his favorite toy taken away, "I just don't see why we gotta keep that runt."

"You heard her, that's her baby," Jin said looking at her one final time before shifting his attention to the rest of the men. "Which brings a question to mind, is that her familiar?"

Familiars, most commonly used in term with witches and warlocks, is a demon supposedly attending and obeying a witch, often said to assume the form of an animal. Although in reality, they aren't demons but actual animals who bond closesly with their holder or master. Having a relationship with a Familiar, is said to be the closest relationship a person of magic will ever experience. This bond's strength is only usurped by the bond in which a parent has with their own child.

Akira nodded his head, "Not only did she come home with a wolf, but she ran to save a wolf, was accepted into that pack and if I'm not mistaken, she also had a wolf at her home, or maybe part wolf anyway."

Ryan boasted proudly, "Looks like our girl has a thing for wolves."

Sebastian snickered, "Right actual wolves, not werewolves."

Ryan shot him the bird, "That still makes me closer than any of you."

Collin rolled his eyes, "maybe and maybe not, Mutt."

"f**k you, dude," Ryan stuck his tongue out at him.

"I would, but you're not my type," Collin pushed his face back away from him.

Those two put up like they hated each other but really, they were friends. They each had one they were closer to than the others. Collin had Ryan, Jin had Sebastian and Akira, its just the way it worked with them.

Luna began to stir in her sleep, moaning a little before snuggling the pup closer to her and drifting back to sleep. Jin had wondered if she had still had her nightmares from when she was a kid.

"Her mother's familiar was the white stag , which matches with her element being Earth," Jin continued the conversation from earlier. "If we think about it hers matches too, her element is ice and her familiar is a wolf, which thrives in winter."

"But a lot of animals thrive in winter, foxes, mountain lions, even bears but they hibernate," said Sebastian.

"It is possible she could have more than one," Akira thought. "She may also be able to master more than one element."

It was a possibility, and wouldn't that be the surprise of the century. Jin looked back at her and gasped when she and the pup weren't there. He looked around for her, " Where the hell did Luna go?"

The other men looked over and saw she wasn't there and they all started to panic. They all jumped up and started to search through the house. They ran to their rooms and to hers and could not find her anywhere. They all came into the living room and saw her walking out of the spare bathroom with the tiny cub in her hands. Jin grabbed her shoulders and shook her gently, "What the hell where you thinking!? You nearly gave us a heart attack!"

She looked at him confused, "I just went to the bathroom, what is the matter with you all?"

"You can't just run off like that!" yelled Sebastian.

"I didn't run off, I went to the bathroom! Jesus, do I need to tell you all when I have to go now?" she snorted.

Jin looked at her and sighed deeply. He knew they were overreacting a bit, but he thought she had tried to run off. "I'm sorry, I thought the worst."

"I'm not going to run off you know."

She surprised them by calling them out on their lie, and by saying she wouldn't run away. He looked at her and she kept a straight face.

"I've learned more about myself in the past few days than I ever could have by myself and to be honest, I feel...safe here with you all," she smiled genuinely.

Jin's heart, if it did beat, wouldve skipped a few. He reached out to cup her cheek and if he hadnt felt love for her before, he sure did now.

"Ok, enough with the mushy stuff," she said stepping away from him. His hand never felt colder once she did. "I think it's about time for dinner for you little fella."

She held the snow white pup like a baby and booped his pink nose. The tiny thing yipped at her happily and she went to the kitchen to heat him up some milk. Jin couldn't help but notice how sexy her ass was in those leggings as she walked towards the fridge, so did the others apparently as they all eyed her up and down. She came back and everyone averted their gazes, like they had been guilty of something.

She sat on the floor and hand fed the tiny pup. It rolled over satisfied with a full belly and she covered him in the fluffy blanket before taking the empty bowl to the sink. She stretched and cracked her neck before sitting down on the couch.

"So, what's next on my training agenda," she asked them eagerly.

"I think you have a good hold on your ice magic and you seem to have a new found companion with a bonus of a pack of wolves. We can try another type of magic if you like or we can try hand to hand combat," Akira said.

"I think hand to hand would be beneficial, plus it will give me time to practice more with my ice," she said looking at her right hand.

"It's settled then, we will focus on that tomorrow," Akira said looking at the sky turning to dusk outside the windows.

The room fell quiet and out of nowhere, breaking the silence, Collin piped up, "That song you sang..in the woods, what was it?"

"Ah, it's a lullaby. I don't remember who I heard it from, but for some reason, I remember it word for word and it just always made me felt comforted and safe. I was hoping it would've for the wolf too...It must be scary to die, I was hoping it would bring her peace," she looked down, sad to remember the wolf had died. She was always so sensitive to other creatures but she had always had a fondness for dogs and cats in particular.

"So, who is going to train me in hand to hand tomorrow?" she asked excited, and trying to change the subject to something more lighthearted.

All 5 men looked at each other. They all 5 raised their hands and said in unison, "I will!"
