Over the course of the next few weeks, Luna stayed as far away from Jin as she could. Her nightmare had terrified her and she couldn't bring herself to even look at him. Jin kept his distance to give her space but it killed him every day. Out of all the beings in the house to scare her, it just had to be him.
Meanwhile, she seemed to get closer to the rest of the group. Ryan had remembered her calming him while he was in pain, Collin stayed glued to ger side since the nightmare, she started baking desserts with Sebastian and honing her own cooking skills and she constantly chatted with Akira about her magic and medical knowledge.
Kiba was growing into a rambunctious little pup, following Luna everywhere. After a few days his eyes opened and he had sapphire blue eyes, which was rare for a wolf, but they seemed to think that Luna's ice magic had something to do with it. She practiced nearly every day and every time she would use it, the pups eyes would glow.
Today, Luna and Kiba got up to do their morning routine. She picked out a band shirt and ripped skinny jeans to wear, and they walked towards the kitchen. Sebastian was making something yummy and Kiba yipped at him with a wag of his tail.
"Good Morning you two, care for any breakfast?"
"None for me thank you, give mine to Kiba," she said grabbing some orange juice.
Ryan and Akira were already at the bar and Collin and Jin walked in. Jin looked as if he hadn't eaten in a few days and she looked at him for the first time in awhile. He had dark bags under his eyes and just looked as if he hadn't felt his normal self. She turned her attention to Akira, "What are we doing today?"
"I was wondering if you wanted to go into the town with me today and get out of the house for a bit?" he said sipping his coffee, "we need some stuff anyway."
She got excited and hugged him around his neck, nearly knocking him out of his chair, "Oh my gosh yes! Ive been itching to do something different!" She looked at Jin, who turned away when he saw her look in his direction. "Hey Jin, you wanna come too?" she asked.
He looked at her astonished that she would ask and pointed to himself, "Me?"
"No, the other vampire in the house," she said rolling her eyes, "Yes, you! But you have to promise me you will eat before we go, ok?" she smiled at him as she grabbed 3 packets of his supply out of the freezer and placed them in his hand.
"Y-yes I'll do it," he said happy to have her speaking to him again.
All of the other men smiled, except for Collin, who glared at Jin. What the Hell made her decide to let him in again? Akira came to pat him on the shoulder and whispered, "Don't worry, I will be with them."
Luna bent down to Kiba and rubbed his head lovingly. "Be a good boy until I get back ok?" she said as she kissed the top of his head. He barked happily at her and she went to join Akira at the door. She looked back at Jin downing his blood hurriedly before joining them. They all went out the door together and walked through the forrest.
They reached a dock with a ferry boat and walked onto it. Jin reached a hand out to her to help her get onto the boat. She took it with a smile and he cheered in his mind, she was finally acting like she used to with him.
Akira started the boat and drove it a distance towards a shore with a port town. Luna began to fidget in excitement, she wanted to look around and feel normal again. As Akira parked the boat at the dock, they both helped her onto the boardwalk. She decided to hold their hands as they walked and it did not go unnoticed. Akira pulled a list out of his shirt pocket and examined it.
"Looks like we need to go to the medical supply store, the butcher, the farmers market and the coffee shop. Is there anywhere you want to go Luna?" Akira asked looking at her.
She thought for a while before saying, "a dessert shop!" Jin smiled at her, sometimes she seemed so innocent, and sometimes she is meaner than any demon he has ever come across.
Akira got his medicines restocked and a few items for their infirmary. As long as he had his medical license with him he could get anything. The man behind the counter had known Akira for a few years and they made small talk while Akira looked around. "So doc, the little lady with you over there, I haven't seen her before, do you need anything specific for her," he was hinting at something, Akira could tell.
"Not that I am aware of, Bard. She isnt allergic to anything and doesn't take daily medication," Akira trailed off, he actually didn't know if she needed anything.
"She isn't on anything specific? Then I'm surprised, unless she has had one recently," the man said stroking his beard.
"Just come out with it already, what're you referring to?" Akira said, staring at the man plainly.
"Birth control doc! Does the girl need any birth control! If she isn't on any I'm surprised she doesn't have a kid or two trailing behind her, she looks old enough," the man threw his hands up in frustration.
Akira's eyes went wide, realizing that's something that was never thought of. Was Luna on birth control? Has she ever even had s*x? He regained his composure and stated plainly, "No, we got her stocked for the year but thank you for your concern."
"Good then, trust me I got seven of them and they're real cute until about school age and then you want to start drinking," the man laughed and patted Akira's shoulder.
Akira paid for his items and they shopped around a bit before they moved onto the last stop: the coffee shop. Akira was ordering coffe for the house when Luna saw they also had desserts. She looked into the window and saw exactly what she wanted.
"Akira, may I have some macaroons?" she said batting her eyes at him.
"Hm? Of course you can, are macaroons your favorite?" he asked with a smile.
"Yes, they're my favorite, I can never make them right so when I see them, I always get some," she said smiling.
"Whatever you want darling," he turned to the cashier and ordered 2 dozen macaroons in various flavors for her.
Satisfied with their trip she walked up to Jin who was staring outside. He smiled at her, looking much better that he ate, like his normal self, she was getting a bit worried about him.
She was still a tiny bit afraid of him but after having some time to think about what had happened, she knew he wasn't in control. She would just have to be more careful and not get hurt around him. She looked outside the window and noticed some kids running towards a back alley behind the shop with a pile of rocks in their little hands. Curious, she decided to follow them, Jin right beside her while Akira finished paying for their items.
Luna snuck around the corner and saw the kids were throwing rocks at something black and small. It wasn't until she heard it cry out in pain that she realized what it was: a small black cat. What kind of mean ass brats throw rocks at a cat?! She walked up behind the kids and yanked them both by the back of their shirts, making them drop their rocks.
"Hey lady! You cant just grab kids like that!" one of them yelled.
"I just did, and what're you going to do about it?" she stuck her tongue out at them.
"I'm going to tell my mom on you!" the other yelled back.
"Go ahead, I'll tell your mom you were hurting animals for no reason and I'll tell all the kids in town and no one will play with you again," she shrugged and walked towards the cat curled up in fear.
The kids ran off defeated, Luna loved kids but she never could condone that kind of behavior from anyone, and kids were so easy to persuade. She knelt down and picked the tiny bundle up. It hissed at her and reached out to claw her but she held strong and began to pet it. Eventually, the cat began to purr and relax, not sensing ill intent or danger from her. She touched it all over to make sure it didn't have any severe injuries. She sighed in relief when it just looked like a couple of scratches and the poor thing was a bit malnourished. She turned and walked towards the dock.
"Bringing home another one are we?" Akira asked amused by the way she handled the children.
"Yup," she said as she held the purring cat.
