Luna woke the next morning feeling refreshed. It had been a long time since she had slept like that. It could have been from pure exhaustion but nevertheless she felt great!
"Good Morning you two-oh.." she said with a sad face. She missed her pets but she knew Shelby had them, if anything ever happened to her, she knew her best friend and adopted sister would take care of them.
She opened the blinds on her bay window and went into her bathroom to brush her teeth and let her curly hair down. It fell in perfect ringlets down her back and she went into the closet to find something to wear.
She decided on some black leggings and a long sleeved fitted white shirt. Again, not too revealing. She walked out of her room closing her bedroom door behind her and walked down the hallway towards the living room. The closer she got, she could smell something cooking. She opened the doors and went straight to the kitchen where she saw Sebastian cooking over the stove. Seated at the counter was Akira and Ryan.
They all turned toward her as she entered. "Good Morning everyone," she said with a small smile.
"Good morning darling," said Sebastian.
"Good morning sweetheart," said Ryan, stuffing his face with something.
"Morning dear," said Akira, turning back to his coffee.
She walked over to the fridge to find something to drink and decided orange juice was the best option. She looked
around for a glass and Sebastian handed her one.
"Here, would you like something to eat?" he asked with a smile.
"Yes, please," she said as she sat between Akira and Ryan at the counter.
Sebastian placed a plate of pancakes in front of her with strawberries and blueberries in the shape of a smiley face ontop. She giggled at how cute they were and took a bite. How did a man learn to cook so damn good!
"Sebastian, you should be on Hell's Kitchen, you would throw Gordon Ramsey for a loop," she said taking another bite.
He laughed, "I'm happy you like them."
Ryan got up and placed his plate in the sink. "I'm off for a run, see you later." He waved and gave Luna a kiss ontop of her head before running out the door. She couldnt help but notice how chiseled he looked when he took his shirt off.
"Before I forget to mention, never drink the red packets in the freezer, those are Jin's" Sebastian said coming to sit next to her. "I dont think I need to tell you what is in them"
She swallowed audibly, "Nope, crystal clear." Hopefully he never runs out, mosquitos loved her 0+ self, she could only imagine what a vampire would do.
"Morning," in walked said vampire walking straight to the freezer. He popped a bag of his supply in the microwave to heat up said red packet.
Smelling the iron tang in the air, Luna crinkled her nose, "Umm is it ok if I go outside for some fresh air?"
"Sure, hang on and I will go with you," he said popping the microwave door open. She turned her head so she wouldn't see it, but she could still hear his fangs pierce the bag.
He let out a sigh, as if downing a refreshing drink, I suppose it was to him anyway and held his hand out for her. She hesitated at first, but she gently placed her hand in his as he led her out the front door.
They stood on a large porch, equipped with chairs and patio furniture. Jin reached in the back pocket of his jeans and got a pack of cigarettes out. He flipped one into his mouth and lit it, inhaling and exhaling smoke.
"May I have one of those?" she asked. You dont realize how badly you need one until someone breaks them out. He handed one to her and as she placed it between her lips, he held his lighter out for her and lit it. As she exhaled smoke, she relaxed. "Thank you, it had been a hot minute since I had one."
"I understand, I don't really need these myself but they bring a comfort in a way," Jin said.
"I see there is a forest," she said, trying to make small talk, "I feel comfort in that."
"Yeah, Ryan goes in the woods a lot," he said, trying to force it back. "You were looking for escape routes in wanting to come out here werent you?"
"At first yes, but I just genuinely wanted to be outside in the sun for a moment," she said exhaling, then something dawned on her she didn't realize before. "Holy s**t, how're you even able to be outside right now?"
He snorted at her, "that's a myth! We are just more prone to getting sunburnt, and before you ask, no, I don't f*****g sparkle."
"That's a bummer, I was looking forward to making fun of you, Tinkerbell" she smiled at him devilishly.
"Haha, good one," he said fake laughing at her. He put out his ciggarette in an ashtray on the ledge of the porch. "You want to start a little training today?"
"Sure, what the hell, I don't have anything else to do today," she put hers out in the ashtray.
Akira, Collin and Sebastian came outside to join them. "Let's get started," Jin said with a grin.
Jin sat on the steps of the porch as Akira took Luna's hand and walked her into the spacious front yard. "Let's start by finding your element, each magic bearer has a specific element they master." Akira held up his hand and a small fire appeared in his palm. "Mine, for instance, is fire, your mother's was earth."
She nodded in understanding. "You dear Luna, must figure out your own. It could be the same or different from your parents. The first thing you must do is close your eyes and think of whatever element first comes to your mind, sometimes it helps to picture a favorite season or picture or even a feeling. Don't think of anyone else but you."
She closed her eyes and thought about what Akira said. Out of anything he said, there was only one thing that came to mind. "Ok, I have it, what do I do next?"
"Focus that energy and that feeling in your heart and put it into something small. This could be in the palm of your hands or even on something out here if it's small enough. If you want to use your hand, hold it out in front of you like I did and it shall come to be," Akira said seriously.
She held her right hand out focusing intently and wanting to project what she was seeing in her mind and feeling in her heart. All of a sudden, her hand began to feel cold.
She heard the other men shift in their seats, and Akira clapped, making her eyes open. Unknowingly to her, her eyes glowed a perfect violet color and when she looked in her hand, a snowflake rotated like a Christmas ornament in her hand.
"Excellent work love! Your element is ice," Akira said with a grin and stopping his dramatic claps.
"What on Earth did you think of?" Sebastian said astonished.
"Winter and Christmas time, it was always my favorite," she said smiling excitedly.
"Let's see what else you can do as a beginner. I want you to expand beyond your hand and see how far you can go with it," Akira said taking a few steps back.
She closed her eyes and focused hard, throwing the feeling beyond herself and wanting to throw it outward into the expansive area they were in. Soon, she felt her whole body get cold, and felt soft, tiny dots pelt her face and body. She opened her eyes and it had began to snow.
"Well Hell's bells Elsa, way to let it go," Collin said with a smirk.
"Really? A Frozen joke? You're so lame," she said with a sarcastic grin.
"Only for you dollface," he said with a wink.
"I'm only taking that because it was cute and I can make fun of you for watching Frozen," she giggled.
Collin blushed and turned away from her, flipping her off.
She twirled as the snow fell, feeling accomplished and bringing her back to her childhood, making snow angels with Shelby and drinking hot chocolate with their moms.
Akira came up behind her and patted her on the head like a puppy, "I am incredibly proud of you. No beginner can even manifest their element on the first try, let alone make the weather change. This is the power of a Goddess," he smiled down at her.
Luna blushed up at him and just as she was about to say something they heard a painful screech from the forest.
