Akira narrowed his yellow eyes, forming into slits and showing his true animalistic side.
"We brought her here for a reason didn't we? If we still intend to breed with her, then shouldn't we find out if she was on anything to prevent conceiving?" Akira said as he ran his hand through his long silver hair.
The rest of the men fell silent. They knew that was the original plan; to take her away from the world of possibilities and narrow down her options to five beings. When they started their game nearly ten years ago, the intent was to get her alone and isolated so Hera could capture her and do what she willed. After getting to know her and seeing her in person, unknowingly to her, they couldn't go through with it. They decided to take her when she was of a decent age and keep her for themselves.
As she grew from a pretty girl to a beautiful woman, they couldn't wait any longer for fear of her getting taken by a human man, getting married and losing her forever. At first, they wanted to stay distant from her and let her come to them but as they have lived together this past month, they fell for her so much harder. They can't keep their distance from her, it's impossible.
"We have everything we need to live here and keep her happy, keep her healthy. We intended to make her our mate, our wife and live our immortal lives with her in it. We need to know these things about her to make sure we can continue this way," Akira continued in a matter of fact tone. He was the realistic one of the bunch for sure.
Jin sighed, "It's true and still is, but now I would let her go if she asked me."
The rest of the men agreed. At first, it was a selfish desire to hold her for themselves but now, her happiness is what mattered to them most. They lived for her smile and laugh and if letting her go is what it took to keep those things, they would.
Unknowingly to the five men in the room, Luna was hiding behind the door and had heard every word. She had forgotten her macaroons and wanted one before bed and when she heard them talking about her, she became very curious and hid to listen in. She covered her hand with her mouth as she listened to their actual plan for her. She knew it! She knew that her safety wasn't the only reason for her to be here. How could she have let them trick her?!
As she listened more and heard that they would let her go if that's what she wanted, she put her hand down and thought hard about it. Did she even want to go home? She lived alone, with her two pets and she worked a lot because she was alone. Now that she was living with people and had gotten used to it, she liked it here.
She turned the corner and showed herself. She stood there in her pink shorts with hearts and tight fit long sleeve shirt. They looked at her in shock, they were too busy talking amongst each other that they weren't listening for her footsteps or her door to open. Jin stood and looked at her, worried what was about to happen, "How much did you hear?"
"Everything," she looked up at them rubbing her arm.
They looked at each other in defeat, thinking this would be the last time they ever saw her again. Jin sighed, "I guess I'll go help you gather your things." He began walking toward her room when she put her hand out to stop him. He looked at her confused.
"I want to stay," she said with a straight face.
"Wh-what?" Jin asked incredulously.
"I. Want. To. Stay," she said, poking him in the chest with every word.
"Why?" asked Collin, getting up from where he was sitting on the couch.
"My old life was fun and all, but kinda lonely. I didn't have anybody I liked romantically and even though I had my adopted family, I didn't really feel like I...belonged," she said with a sad smile.
"And with us?" Ryan asked.
"I belong," she smiled at them.
Jin embraced her, holding her tight. He knew it would still take time for her to feel any ounce of romantic feelings towards them, but for so long he dreamed of this moment, and it was finally happening. She was theirs. The other men embraced her too, one by one. They may be the oddest family anyone had ever seen, but they were still a family. She would miss her sister and her adopted parents and her human mother, but she knew as time went on, they would be okay without her. She knew her friends would be okay without her. They would live on and be happy, and she could finally be truly happy.
That night, they stayed awake. They talked and shared macaroons. They laughed and shared little things about themselves and played their game all over again. This time, Luna got to play in person with them. Around four in the morning, Luna fell asleep on the couch from a sugar coma. Jin picked her up gently and carried her to her room. He placed her in her bed and turned her tv to The Golden Girls, and covered her with the blankets. He kissed her forehead and walked to his own room. The others had gone to bed themselves, all except Collin.
Collin had walked outside to the woods, a smart phone in his hand. He made sure he wasn't followed and dialed a number on the small screen, waiting for the person to pick up the phone.
"Well, if it isn't my favorite," said a female voice in a sultry tone. "What do you have to report?"
"She has completely fallen and is fully trusting in us," he said, taking his glasses off his face.
"Excellent, you are that much closer to your reward, my dear" said the voice.
"You are keeping your promise about the others?" he asked.
"Of course, I will annhilate them painlessly, leaving her all to you. You must keep her in control. Has she awakened her powers yet?" the voice asked.
"No," he lied.
"Wonderful, as long as you keep her under control and keep your reports up to date, the others will be dealt with appropriately, and you will be free from your bond with me," the voice said seductively.
Collin's eyes shimmered a gold color and he grinned, flashing his demonic fangs. He ran a hand through his short, black hair and looked up at the moon, "Perfect."
Annoyed now, the voice asked, "Is there anything else?"
"No," he said.
"Then I await your next report, Demon. Goodbye."
"Goodbye...Hera" Collin hit the end button on the phone and held his arms out to the sky. "Soon my love, very soon, you will be mine and mine alone. I never was very good at sharing."
Collin placed the phone in the back pocket of his jeans and walked back towards the house.
