Chapter Thirty-two
MARIAM'S POV I got home from the shop around 4 PM since my boss was traveling the next day, and we closed early so she could pack. Work had been chaotic as usual, so I was exhausted and basically collapsed onto my bed as soon as I got home. I completely forgot that I had promised Miguel I’d call him. I ended up having this amazing dream where I was free from all expectations, didn’t have to work while studying, and lived in a fairytale castle where my wishes were granted. It was so vivid and wonderful. But all of that came to a sudden halt with some banging that jolted me awake. I realized someone was knocking on my door. I sat up and searched for my phone, finding it beside the headboard. I checked the time: it was 5:30 PM. Wow, I had slept that long. The knocking came again,
