Chapter Five

Jessie's POV

" Mr. James wants to talk to you," says Ryan holding a phone in this hand

" Tell him to come to my office "

after a few minutes, James walks in holding a file, I assume it's about the break-in the other week, the meeting didn't end well

" good morning ma'am" he eyes Ryan then he looks back at me

" Should I leave the office?" questions Ryan

" if you want but you don't have work to do besides I'd use a wetness where this one is involved " James looks amused at the statement

" you give me too much credit I'm not that notorious " I don't want to dwell long on the irrelevant discussion so I go straight to the point

" take a sit Mr. James you requested a meeting I hope you have made progress on fixing the security system " why is he shifting in the chair he'd better have done something or so help me God

" aah yes about that I was hoping you would give me more time to organize this" Unbelievably this is not acceptable at all is he trying to undermine my authority?

" Ryan can you come and sit beside James please " after he's sited I look back at the file and ask

" Ryan did James not say he was working on a solution on Friday?"

" yes he did" with that I turned to James and questioned

" Mr. James did you or did you not say the cameras have been down for a while and you were working on repairing the system?"

" yes I did," he says " but I do not think it will be ready tomorrow "

" I don't want to know what you think. stop thinking and get it done! do you know what day tomorrow is ?" I'm trying hard to calm down

" yes I do tomorrow is the 30th," he says with a confused look on his face

" l hope you know why you have to finish it tomorrow then" I close the file and look at him properly

" you are a very competent employee James and you're good at what you do, until recently off cause, but that doesn't mean I'll overlook your mistakes and I hope you wouldn't give me any reason to do so. I'm not giving you any extra time I want to see those reports tomorrow in the meeting at 10. you're dismissed "

Brandy and her team are coming today to present their work I'd like to be there for her but my presence would likely make the directors vote in her favor and she wouldn't like that she said she wanted to do this on her own and it took a lot of convincing to get her to sign with my company. I kind of get her though she is my sister but also good at her work so if she wants me to back off I will. I'll just go and get some fresh air and avoid the temptation of just going in to watch it I mean it's my little sister for crying out loud

" Are you going somewhere?" Ryan asked

" aah yeah I'm going to get some coffee Down the block anything the matter?" we haven't heard much of a conversation since Saturday morning I'm sad yet grateful at the same time

" aah yeah they're waiting for you to start " umm okay

" I thought they didn't need me in there give me a minute "

" sure ahh could we talk later like after this or whenever you have time?" "okay cool" I head to the conference room

The presentation turned out way better than I expected it was perfect I'm not just being biased Brandy is crazy good at makeup and fashion. she's even the one who made me take interest in fashion and I started expanding my business in that direction

" I think the presentation was spectacular now we are going to vote how many are in favor?" Memory one of the directors asked most of them voted for only a few voted against not even a hand full.

I haven't taken a vote yet and I could see my sister eying me nervously along with everyone else I know she got most of the votes but mine would determine if she gets the contract or I don't usually interfere in this matter but on the few times I have I had seen them overrule votes because of a comment I made or just because I didn't look happy with the presentation so I try to avoid attending these

" Ms. Brandon, would you want to cust a vote? or give a comment you have been quiet the whole time "

" I think it was perfect if we are going to expand and win peoples hearts then this is the right candidate but don't budge on my account you are free to make any decision you see fit" she smiles and turns to Brandy

" I think you just got yourself a spot I can't wait to start working with you," she says with so much excitement it makes me curious but I don't want to dwell on it

I head out to get lunch and Brandy catches up with me

" thanks, sis I know I said you shouldn't intervene but I was getting nervous for a second there," say exclaims giving me a tight hug " thank you, thank you, thank you!"

" calm down girl I don't think I did anything, that was all you and you still need to prove yourself so you better start getting to work "

" yes ma'am " she giggles

I love her not only because she's my sister but also because she's adorable and hard-working people like being around her and working with her is so fun I think she would make a great boss one day
