Jessie's POV

" so tell me about it!" I almost dropped my phone from the high pitched tone

" about what?" I asked trying to touch up my makeup

" well about this new, hot, and jaw-dropping assistant of yours "

" Trish I need to get to work I have a meeting in about an hour," I tell her picking my purse and heading out "girl you're the boss no one cares if you're late or not," she says

" you would be surprised and besides I want to be taken seriously, you of all people should know how hard that is. I don't want people to see me as just a workover or something " I try not to sound frustrated Tricia is my best friend but she can be a pain in the ass sometimes but I love her anyway

" look girl you are a self accomplished CEO of the damn Gilca enterprises, you're the damn boss and no one can work over you anyhow well unless you allow them but that's beside the point give yourself a break you know you don't have to do all the meetings yourself, you pay people for that " man I like this lady

" I know alright but this one is really important I have to go I'll call you later "

I hung up while walking into my office

It's been almost a month since he started work but I haven't gotten used to his presence yet. He has to be some kind of god or something, surely a mere human can't be this attractive not. We've been friends for like two weeks now I can't help but want more who wouldn't he's like every girl's knight in shining armor I've been trying to act indifferent I'm starting to get frustrated

“Ms. Johannes is waiting for you in the conference room,” Ryan says by the door

“ I’ll be there in a moment,” I say trying to sound as calm as I can

”oh and tell Lucy to call a meeting with the directors for after lunch”

“is it about the break-in on one of the stores downtown?” he asks

“yes Ryan somethings can’t be left unattended otherwise will be having bigger problems to bargain with and don’t forget to get those contracts ready, Brandy says she has a new brand of makeup she wants to launch,” I tell him heading to the conference room

“Someone tell me how they were able to break in when and why all the cameras were out of service!” I shout to my full capacity making my foul mood known to all

“we’re having the cameras replaced ma’am,” one of the directors says nervously but I don’t care about how nervous he is Right now

“did you hear my question, Mr. James?”

“yes, it’s just that the system has been down for a while and we are trying to fix it. We did not anticipate this” unbelievable is he trying to sound professional right now?

“well if I remember very well you wanted an enormous increase on the budget of the security department this month, so fix this before Tuesday or we are going to have a different conversation” I pick my file and head out

“you seem pissed,” Ryan says catching up with me

“I have a right to be don’t you think?”

“you have a point. Since it’s Friday and it’s barely lunch we decided to have a small party so I was wondering if you would like to come?” I’m not entirely sure what he’s getting at so I asked “ are you asking me to go on a date with you? ”

“ that’s only if you agree and it won't be exactly a date since the others are also coming and you could also invite your friend there one you said is coming for the weekend?”

“ah, sure I have to go when is it again?”I ask

“4 pm at my place?”

“Okay see you at 4 then”

I headed home Tricia might already be there she said she was supposed to arrive at ten and it's half past twelve now and the traffic isn't helping

" I missed you so much B," Tricia says pulling me into a tight hug

" I missed you too T" she took my purse and pulled me to my bedroom

" now you are going to tell me about him while we change in detail no holding back " she walks past me into the dressing room " oh and I'm helping myself to your to your clothes " that wouldn't be a first we always do " well start talking "

" you already know everything T " sadness shrouded me I know I shouldn't be feeling this way but I can't help it

" Okay sweetheart look like you could use a shower. why don't you do just that while I searching for us something to wear "

" Just keep it simple though nothing to fancy " with that I left the dressing room to take a shower even though it was a quick one, it still helped because I feel more composed now so I entered into the bed

" finally I thought you would never finish "

she exclaimed " sit so I'll dry off your hair and see what we can do with that face of yours "

" what's wrong with it?" now I'm curious what's she going to say? I know there's nothing wrong with it

" well today you need to look like a pretty girl trying to have fun and not someone who's trying to take over the world "

" I'm not trying to take over anything I just like to be more matured "

" well aren't they their same thing? " she asked " anyway suit yourself sis" she adds without letting me answer
