Chapter Nine

Jessie's POV

The weekend with Tricia and Hope was great more than great it was spectacular like a mini-vacation in the Bahamas. we first went shopping let's just say we always go shopping whenever we get together but this time it was exclusive. Hope wanted almost everything she came across from clothes to toys, she is like a little Tricia in the making Tricia likes fashion and has great taste. The whole Saturday was spent in town shopping and we also took hope sightseeing, she had always wanted to and she convinced us to do more as she demanded. I wasn't kidding when I said she was like her mother the kid can make you give her whatever she wants. I didn't want to believe it when Tricia said it but I got to witness the intensity of her craft.

we had an early morning on Sunday we went to the beach built sand houses and played all sorts of games.

even though I didn't want to leave I knew I had to when duty calls you to answer they say well it's not all that fun. my plane is landing around eight in the morning and I'll be heading straight to the office Lucy advised me to take the company jet but that's a waste of resources for a 2 hours flight don't get me wrong I like traveling in style and with class but this time I just wanted to be low key.

Upon arriving I took my phone from my purse and dialled Ryan's number, he picked up on the first ring I'm guessing he is not so busy after all

" good morning Ryan, I'm on my way to the office. I'll be needing hot coffee and a chance of clothes for the meeting at 10"

" okay, I'm on it anything else?"

" no, I think that would do for now "

When I arrived I just headed straight to my office, I don't usually travel in formal clothing and this time wasn't an exception. I like traveling with comfort and six-inch heels is just the opposite so no thanks

Ryan's POV

I've spent a whole week without seeing her not that we've had anything going on after our encounter the night of bunch but I couldn't help myself when I saw her, I just had to do it. she walked in on me in the bathroom in her office I didn't think she'd be here so soon and my shirt was a mess from the coffee that accidentally spilled from Lucy's cup so I needed a change of clothes. she didn't rush out neither did she say anything she just stood there like a statue without even blinking, so instead of calling her out on her trance I walked towards her leaned in, and placed a soft kiss on her lips. It felt so good I didn't want to pull back but I wanted to give her a chance to refuse but instead, I felt myself being pulled back into the kiss so I took the chance deepening the kiss. It felt so good I just couldn't get enough, I let my hands travel down her back to her butts. things were just getting hit when the door opened and Lucy walked in.

" aah, sorry l didn't think there'd be anyone in here " she hesitantly said, " I mean there is a meeting in a few so aah..." I didn't miss the look on Jessie's face a stane stare that you could almost hear ' I dare you to say more' from that look I swear. I think Lucy saw it too because she ran out like she couldn't get away fast enough

" I should head out as well and give you time to change, " I say after clearing my throat

" Sure I'll be right out," she said and I exited the room

Lucy's up for some trouble I mean who badges into the boss's restroom even thinks of using it just because they think the boss is not there. I use to think she was a decent lady until that day she pulled that funny act in my office. it's not that she's not hot, as matter of fact she is but I'm not exactly into that kind of girl, and besides I'm busy chasing after my boss a woman who I might not even get. I'm sure she wants me too, what I'm not sure of is if she's willing to give it a try or not

The meeting went well these meetings are mostly just briefings we usually have them when Jessie has not been around for a while that is in addition to the monthly conference off cause they are sometimes tiring but they motivate people to work extra hard. which in turn gains her respect not that she needs it she is a strong, powerful and reputable woman.

" you look like you could use some rest," I say as we walked into the parking lot

" yeah I do" replied Jessie

" Do you mind if I give you a ride?"

"not just hold on a bit let me tell Jimmy to go ahead without me" she rakes her phone and makes a call

" all done so we can go now now" she seems to be in a good mood today

The drive home was mostly quiet so I decided to break the silence

" so how was how your visit?" I asked

" it was great but brief I'd have loved to stay just a little longer "

" then why did you come back early if that's the case?"

" you know why. I'm not about to abandon my company and run off to a vacation doing nothing progressive, that'll be reckless of me" she said while smiling

" you're right but there's nothing wrong with it being a little reckless some times you should try it"

" I take you up on that one day," she says as I park in her driveway " you want to come in for some tea?" she offered

" Tom asked me to meet so I'll pass " I declined

" Alright see you at the office," she said before turning to head inside and I drove off I need to meet Tom
