Philip was shocked as he knew that the man was gone immediately. He felt his fine hair arising, which made him have goosebumps.
"Is that a ghost? An angel? Or a demon!?" He muttered, thinking about the identity of the person.
"Sigh. Maybe I'm just hallucinating." He muttered and he decided to go back to their home. He turned around and readied himself to close the gate.
"Uha...Uha..."
When Philip held the gate's bar, he heard a tiny voice near him. He felt scared as he heard that voice that seemed like a crying baby. He immediately closed the gate because he was embraced by the fear and coldness of the surroundings.
However, when he entered the gate, he heard again the silent cry of a baby. He felt scared at that moment but he thought that it was just a hallucination again like what he experienced a moment ago.
"Sigh."
He took a deep breath and continued walking. However, he heard again the cry of a baby and it had begun to become louder as he stepped away from the gate. But when he decided to make a faster movement, he felt something strange in himself. His curiosity beat against his fear.
"Uha...Uha..."
The voice of that little creature suddenly became a way for him to go back to the place where he heard the voice. Even though he was wet and the thunder became louder and louder, he did not hesitate to look for that creature.
Because the surroundings were dark, he managed to get his pocket flashlight and seek the baby. His heart beats so fast. He didn't know if he would be scared or not if he saw where the sound came from.
He slowly walked toward the bushes hoping that the baby was there. He waved the flashlight around and tried to sharpen his eyes and ear to know the exact location of the baby. Every roar of the thunder made the baby cry aloud and he felt pity for it.
"Don't worry baby, I am looking for you. I'm coming." He murmured as he kept looking under the bushes. However, he could not find the baby in it after a moment of searching.
"Sigh. Maybe I'm just hoping for a child. That's why I heard that strange thing inside me." He sadly uttered to himself and he discontinued looking for the baby who was still crying aloud. It seemed like being afraid of thunder and the sudden stroke of the lightning.
"I need to take a rest. Maybe I'm just tired." He added, and he decided to go back to their yard. But when Philip walked back to the gate, he saw a piece of cloth near the front of the gate where the defective street light was standing. That piece of cloth caught his attention. He slowly moves toward it.
"Huh!" He briefly uttered as he widened his eyes. He could not believe what he saw that night. He immediately took the thing under the plastic garbage bin that became a shelter for the baby.
Even though he felt frightened at that moment, he did not hesitate to pick up the baby, who seemed to be three-four months old.
His eyes glowed with happiness as he touched the soft skin of the little angel that was bathed by the heavy and cold rain. He felt pity for that fragile thing covered with an old piece of clothing.
He immediately embraced the baby and hid it under his jacket, and he ran toward their home after closing the gate to ensure their safety. The fear that he felt before was replaced by incomparable joy as he found a blessing from heaven.
"Daniela! Daniela! Open the door immediately!"
He shouted as he ran toward the closed front door. He shouted as loudly as he could and he set aside the argument they had before because all he wanted at that moment was to give the baby good shelter.
Fortunately, their home had a shed that could be a shelter that helped Philip to protect the baby from chilling. After a moment of pause, the wooden door was open and it showed the serious face of Daniela.
"What's wrong Philip!? Are you going to make me mad again?!" Daniela asked angrily as she opened the door. Her face showed madness as she faced Philip outside the door, not knowing that Philip was carrying a piece of good news to her. But instead, Philip answered his wife, he stared at Daniela emotionless.
"What's going on Philip!? Are you crazy!" Daniela asked again angrily. Philip opened his jacket slowly and he showed the angel-like baby under his jacket.
Daniela could not speak about what she saw. She widened her eyes and she glared at her husband slowly after averting her gaze at the baby.
"P-Philip....W-Where that ba-baby came from?" She asked, stammering in amazement.
"Daniela, I will tell you later. But for now, we need to give the baby a warm bed and change its clothes," Philip replied, and he entered the house. Daniela immediately followed her husband, who immediately entered the house.
Daniela closed the door and she went upstairs to look for some baby clothes. When she came back, she brought a piece of clothes for the baby and a thick blanket.
"Philip, change your clothes and I will take care of the baby," Daniela uttered with authority and she gave her husband a bath towel.
Philip immediately laid the baby on the cushioned armchair and took the towel to dry himself. He could not imagine how happy he was at that moment because of the little blessing that he received from his dark situation.
However, Daniela could not believe what she saw as she removed the wet clothes around the baby's body.
"B-baby...g-girl..." She muttered, trembling in her voice. She did not know how happy she was as she saw how a beautiful baby girl was lying next to her. She touched the soft cheek of the baby and she did not know that her bounty tears were flowing from her eyes. She looked like a mother that gave birth to a beautiful baby at that moment.
Philip, on the other hand, saw how happy his wife was. He closed his eyes and thanked all mighty for giving them a child. However, he won't know where that baby came from. He opened his eyes and he remembered the mysterious person outside before he saw the baby.
"Maybe that person left the baby. But what if..." But before he said his words, he heard Daniela calling him.
"Philip! Come on. Bring some warm milk. She is crying. Maybe she is starving." Daniela uttered.
Philip widened his eyes as he heard what Daniela said to him.
"B-baby girl? We have a baby girl!" He happily replied.
Daniela nodded her head and replied.
"Yes, she is a baby girl. That's why you need to hurry. She needed milk."
When Philip heard that, he quickly went to the kitchen to look for some formula milk. Fortunately, they have some stock in their kitchen that might be used to feed the baby. He quickly made warm milk and went back to the living room.
Daniela carried the baby and gave her warm milk to fill her stomach.
While the healthy baby girl was sucking the milk, Daniela and Philip watched her and seemed like they were watching a newborn angel. Their argument an hour ago had vanished as they had an angelic baby.
