When the ambulance arrived, they loaded Amberly’s mom, Elizabeth McHenry, into the back of it. Amberly, still a mess, with a blanket from one of the paramedics draped over her, clambered into the back of the ambulance to be with her mother. Charlie didn’t quite know what she should do.
