Delilah's POV I buried my face in my pillow and let the sobs tear through me with a violence that shook my entire body. They'd lured me there and orchestrated the whole thing with Mom's phone call and the fake errand and gotten me to walk right into their trap like the stupid, naive fool I was. And Dante had saved me while calling me worthless trash and making it clear I was his property to torment and no one else's. I didn't know what that meant or why he'd done it, but the look in his eyes when he'd told me to leave had been so cold and violent that I'd run without thinking.
