Delilah's POV I nodded and he slowly removed his hand from my mouth. "That's why you ignored me at breakfast?" I whispered while anger and hurt warred in my chest. "To avoid suspicion?" "Yes," he said while his hand came up to cup my face with surprising gentleness. "If we suddenly start treating you differently, people will notice. Ryker will notice. We have to act normal in front of everyone." His thumb brushed over my cheekbone in the same tender gesture from last night and some of the hurt eased. "Tonight," he said while his voice dropped lower. "Your room. Midnight. Don't lock your door."
