Dave's POV When Dave laid eyes on Francine, she seemed to be lost in her thoughts, staring into space, a world away from here. She needed him to bring her back to reality, to comfort her, to reassure her that everything would be okay. He needed to reassure himself of that as well. He kicked off his boots and placed his leather jacket on the dresser before crawling onto the bed and sitting beside Francine. Her eyes immediately met his, and fresh tears fell. He reached out and gently wiped them away with his thumb. "I hate it when you cry," he murmured softly, continuing to wipe away the tears that streamed down her soft cheeks.
