A note to my readers
Since Savannah and Cole’s story was released years ago, I’ve heard from so many of you asking endless questions about Shadows and how it all started. Your request for more has been heard. After the Blackstone Series was finished, it was obvious that the story needed to be expanded because it just wasn’t enough to satisfy your appetite. I’m certainly not one to argue that. After all, I could write these characters until the end of time. My imagination missed them, too, and is always eager to conjure up more adventures for my full list of Blackstone characters.
So, here I am, back with an exciting new series, and let me tell you, this is-going-to-blow-your-mind!
Let me explain a few things, before you dive into the story.
I decided to start this series a little differently. So, just how did the Shadows Safehouse come to be? Exactly who started it and why? I thought a lot about how to tell the whole story to give you all the answers you’d asked for. I considered doing a short novella with sprinkled treats and surprises throughout in a way that answered the questions. But after some thought, I wondered if it might be better to write the full story. I’d start you off in present day, then draw you back to the very beginning. Then I could move you forward to drop you back off into the present again. That way, you could hit the ground running for book two, Whiskey.
So, that’s what I did.
Don’t worry, this isn’t a book that flips you back and forth through memories. It’s a smooth transition of present, past, and present again.
I consider this to be a “bridge book” to bring you forward to the new Dark Water series. Dark Water delves into a whole new team with brand new characters I want you to meet.
In the present, I set the scene of what’s to come in Whiskey. Though it will be a brand-new story, you will also be living with the Blackstone Team, old friends who have moved on to Dusk, and of course everyone else you’ve met along the way…and maybe, just maybe, a few other characters will pop up.
Remember to watch for the little things, I never put something on the page without a reason. I hope in writing this book I will satisfy your curiosity, but I also want you to come along with me back home again. I know I’ve missed everyone. I hope you enjoy the ride.
