Brea released Lucy so quickly she almost went tumbling to the ground. Luckily she was able to regain her balance in a split second and avoided the fall.
“What happened?” she asked, panting for breath.
Brea didn’t respond, she was too busy trying to regain her composure. She had been careless, she had almost shifted with Lucy in her arms. Her breathing was labored, even more so than Lucy's. Brea sat on the far end of the blanket, she could see Lucy trying to squint at her through the darkness; she quickly closed her eyes so Lucy wouldn't see the glow they had suddenly developed.
