3 Hannah did her best to make it seem as if she wasn’t overly fussing with her hat, but it was difficult. She wanted to make sure that it was tilted at exactly the right angle so the green feathers that trimmed it would bob gracefully as she walked, rather than sticking out in all directions. True, all it would require was one stiff breeze to ruin the effect, but she had to hope for the best. The day outside seemed placid enough, the fresh green leaves barely shimmering on their branches.
