Dee's muscles were plenty warm by the time Hamal made his way outside. She stood as close to the treeline as she could without actually being in the trees. The slow movements of the kata Hamal had shown her had progressed to the quicker, tightened motions that made the exercise strenuous enough that she had a sheen of sweat coating her body.
She felt his eyes on her as he walked across the yard.
As usual, she deciphered nothing of what he might be thinking from his body language. His face, always impossible to read behind a mask of arrogant mocking, did nothing to help her either. Did he know she knew he was studying her? Not that he wasn't doing it every moment they were training, but there was something different about this.
