7 Excited to have something to stimulate him after torturously waiting around with nothing to do for days, Hamal had to wonder if maybe she really did have a death wish. Would any other sane person be out, running through the night after being attacked, twice? Anyone else would have barred themselves inside to ensure the monsters couldn't break through the door to find them hiding under their beds. It was another reason he was excited to engage her, not only to succeed in his mission but to figure out what made her tick. Her reaction on both nights to her attacks told of how afraid she'd been, but she'd faced both situations head-on and was still out for more. That was the most telling of anything he'd seen so far. His truck sat half on the road, half in the grass near her first attack.
