Chapter 9

I was woken up by a tap on my leg, I yawned and shielded my eyes cause of the light coming in through the windows.

The tap on my leg continued and I could hear miss Monica’s voice calling my name as I slowly regained consciousness.

"Good morning madam Scarlet." Mrs Monica said smiling sweetly at me.

I yawned one more time, my normal yawning and

moaning waking up routine until finally I was fully awake.

"Good morning ma'am." I greeted yawning.

"Oh please just call me Monica, the boss said I should inform you that you eat breakfast with him from now on."

"Oh really sorry I...." I wasn't able to complete whatever sentence I was about saying as the door barged open and an unreadable Noah came in.

He was still in his PJ trouser and a black top, his hands were in his trousers as he stood at the door with a straight face looking directly at me.

I was still on the bed naked underneath the blanket I wrapped myself with.

I loved sleeping naked with just my blankets covering me.

Without thinking I sat up straight mistakenly dropping the covers and exposing the upper part of my body.

And immediately, Noah's eyes went to my exposed body and there was a hint of lust in them, if I read his features well.

I got so embarrassed and quickly pulled back the covers to cover myself up again.

"Goo-Good morning.” I greeted him still embarrassed while playing with my fingers.

I couldn’t look up to look him in the eye.

"Morning. I am hungry and I need to eat.. you are my wife, you eat breakfast with me and that doesn’t mean I should be kept waiting Scarlet." Noah said looking at me with no emotions visible on his face this time around, not even anger.

"I am sorry I would be-“ I started to say but before I could finish, he left slamming the door.

"Oh my! you better join him now Madam, the boss is not really in a good mood." Monica said immediately Noah left.

“Sure. I would go freshen up right now,thank you." I said and Monica nodded and left the room.

Immediately in other to not keep him waiting any longer, I rushed into the bathroom and in few minutes, I was out.

I opened the walk-in closet and was amazed at how many clothes and how beautiful the clothes in there were, not bothering to waste any more time, I picked up an off shoulder simple plain pink gown that ended a little bit above my knees.

It was kind of short but I liked it just cause it was so simple. I let my hair cascade down my back and let it dry on it’s on, since I don’t have enough time to blow dry it or else angry Noah would kill me.

I put on a star shaped small earring and ran out of my room.

I was so happy that I could remember Monica's direction to the dining room.

Thankfully, I wasn't going to get lost.

All happiness drained from me when I arrived at the table and found out Noah wasn't alone,there was a certain Woman with him in her night lingerie.

"Good morning sunshine." The woman said smiling like a Cheshire cat.

"Morning." I said with a blank expression on my face glancing from her to Noah and back to her.

"How was your night?hope you slept well? Please join us.” The woman said still smiling.

Noah on the other hand kept a straight face as I held eye contact with him for a while.

"Thank you." I said taking my seat and serving myself breakfast.

"Oh Noah, the night was so wonderful. You bad boy, you really were hungry for me." The woman said pecking Noah on the cheek as he ate his breakfast, and after finishing what he had in his mouth he kissed her in the mouth, demandingly for a while before breaking the kiss.

"Oh baby since you are on your honey Moon, why don't we travel someplace just us,but of course She can tag along, what do you think?" The woman said after he broke the kiss.

"Ok by me." Noah said then looked at me.

I was trying so hard to pretend like I wasn't watching or listening them. But immediately Noah said okay,I snapped my head up and held eye contact with Noah.

" I won't go with you guys, I'd rather stay here." I said and looked from Noah to his little hoe, then stood up and left the breakfast table.

I headed straight back to my room.

When I closed the door and made sure it was locked,I dropped on the bed and cried

How could he on our wedding night bring home his lover or whatever she is, and as if that wasn’t enough, he had to kiss her shamelessly in front of me with no regard or respect for me.

I heard someone trying to open the door but failed due to the fact that it was locked.

"Scarlet open the door." I heard Noah call out and I quickly cleaned my face properly so he wouldn't know I was crying the whole time I got into the room.

I couldn't stand the embarrassment.

I went to the door and opened it but not fully so he couldn't come in.

"Why did you leave? you don't walk out on me." Noah said.

"It doesn't state anywhere in the contract that I couldn't walk out on you,so please don't forget this is a contract marriage, you don't make any rules out of the one in the contract I signed." I said in a straight and serious face.

"You are living in my house and I have rules." Noah said his composure not changing.

"I could go back to mine if I want, besides you've gotten the married status you wanted and it doesn't state in the contract that I must live here with you, does it?" I said casually.

Without saying a word, Noah left but after he gave me an I dare you do that look.

I sighed and shut my door, I rested my head on the door for a while, and suddenly an idea came to my mind as I hurriedly went into my walk-in closet to get change.

After going through my closet for close to thirty minutes without finding what I really wanted, my eyes fell on a red and white off shoulder short gown.

It had pockets at the sides and was an opened back dress. Under it was a white sandals that matched it perfectly as it wasn't too casual neither was it too serious, it was just there, it had class to it.

When I took in my appearance in the wall mirror, I saw that I looked beautiful. I let my hair cascade down my back, and I applied a little makeup,foundation, mascara and red lipstick.

When I was satisfied with my appearance, I picked up a matching purse and left the room.

I was descending down the stairs when I met Noah who was obviously heading back to my room, but stopped half way on the step as he saw me coming down.

He was staring at me from head to toe and then he frowned.

"Where are you going to?" He asked frowning

"Out, obviously." I said as I walked passed him but was stopped as he grabbed me by my arm.

"Out where exactly." He said raising a

brow."

With my friends,it doesn't state in the contract that I can't go out with them does it?" I said looking him in the eye.

"You can't, I and Sophia are going on a trip to one of my islands now.I need you to come with us to avoid stupid questions from the press,and I am not asking, I am telling you what you would be doing right about now." Noah said

I pulled my arms out of his hand and kept going,leaving Noah on the staircase.

I fought the tears from flowing down and was going through my purse to find my phone. I really need my best friends now more than ever.

My eyes were becoming blurry due to the tears that filled them and it was hard for me to see inside the purse.

I knew my tears had ruined my mascara already,but I don’t care, I just want to get my phone.

still looking for my phone in my purse when I bumped into something hard and almost fell but that something hard turned out to be a human being and it caught me.

I opened my eyes to see a very handsome man in front of me.

Yes he was handsome very,immediately I felt embarrassed and I was sure my cheeks were burning red already.

"Hey Angel, my damsel in distress, your Prince charming is here to save you not to worry." He said as he helped me back on my feet.

"I’m sorry for the embarrassment, I-i-i wasn't looking,cause I was looking for my phone in my purse and I can't find it so I am guessing I left it in my room

which is upstairs. My name is Scarlet by the way and sorry I am saying so many things at once, I am kind of nervous don't know why" I rambled.

" its OK I get, I'm Elijah by the way, your knight in shining armor at your service.” He said smiling sweetly at me and did a mini bow.

“what are you doing in my house Elijah." Noah said startling me a little as I had forgotten he had been there.

Elijah just smiled.

"I came to congratulate you on your wedding, can't a guy visit a friend who just got married?" Elijah said walking up to where Noah was at the bottom of the step.

“You should have informed me,I don't like being surprised." Noah said with no expression on his face,then

his eyes darted towards me.

I was still standing at the same spot not knowing what to do.

"I can see you've met my wife,and if your sensible as you claim you should know that she already has a knight in shining armor more than capable enough to take care of her." he said to Elijah but this time anger was visible in his eyes.

I rolled my eyes at Noah's reaction, as I walked past them and went back to my room to get my phone which I suddenly realized I hadn't seen it since the wedding day.

I cleaned my mascara stained face and applied a new one, and left the room.

On getting back at the stair case where I found Noah and Elijah still there talking about only god knows what.

I tried walking past them unnoticed but failed as Noah called out my name asking me where I was going to.

"'To see my friends like I said earlier."

"Really? Another friend you could throw yourself at like you did to my friend?" Noah questioned, raising a brow.

"I didn't throw myself at him I fell and he caught me." I said defending myself.

"You fall on every rich man as long as he's young,handsome and has a CEO status!"
