ANNA THE staff had retired to their quarters near the tennis court about 200 meters from the mansion when I let myself blow up. I hadn’t ever been in this room in any visit to the house. Whenever we went upstairs, I always end up in his bedroom, and I just assumed other rooms were guesthouses or any other kind of bedroom for whatever purpose I didn’t really have to mind about. It was his house. I wasn’t thinking much about it. But this one was next to his and there was an internal door that connected the two. I didn’t even know that was a door.
