WE WENT back to the shop from the mall to find one of Alanzo’s SUV’s parked in the parking lot.
“He’s here,” Toni said in an excited tone. “He’s probably going to make peace with you.”
“But we’re not quarreling anymore when I left this morning,” I protested, though this was good that he was here. I wanted to ask about Ellis. About why the head of his security himself was following me.
But when I opened the door to my office where the staff told me he was at, and saw him sitting on my seat cursory looking at the files I’d left there – the ones I’d been working on before I went to the mall with Toni – I had to stop for a moment to watch him.
