CHAPTER ELEVEN
It was Wednesday and Colton decided it was time to head to the Casual Companion office to collect his earnings. He’d had three dates total since he started with the company. He had to admit that his date with Addie had been his favorite. He still got hard when he thought about her.
His second date had been boring, but he didn’t have to do much. He had gone to an older woman’s house, sat on the sofa with her, and watched TV for a few hours. It was easy money considering there was very little effort put into it. That meant it didn’t pay a lot though. He was just glad she hadn’t tried anything s****l with him. As much as he was hurting for cash, he didn’t think he had it in him to f**k an elderly woman for money.
The third date he had just finished with. The requester was an older lady who had just lost her husband. She was in her sixties and she didn’t want to eat alone. She cried the entire time as she told him how great of a man her Louie was. In the two hours they spent together he had gotten their entire life story. Colton didn’t mind keeping her company at all. Plus, their love story was one that could rival any Nicholas Sparks book. At the end of the two hours, she kissed him on the cheek and thanked him for sharing a meal with her. She was sweet, but lonely. He could understand why. It had been the first time in forty-five years she had been alone.
Colton walked into the office and looked around, noticing a few guys already there waiting to get their money. He nodded to the receptionist and headed to the seating area, pulling out his phone to check his social media until his name was called.
“Here’s your check, Jeff.”
Colton glanced up briefly, looking at the guy as he walked up to the desk to get his pay.
“Thanks, Madison. See you later.” He folded the check and stuck it in the breast pocket of his jacket before leaving.
“Later.” She waited until he was out of the way before looking toward the group of guys. “Tommy, you’re up.”
Colton couldn’t help but profile the smaller guy that headed toward the desk. The way he was dressed and his mannerisms screamed that he was a gay guy. He’d be surprised if he was wrong, considering he was wearing a bright pink button-down shirt with a bow tie.
“Hey, Maddie,” he said in a quiet voice as he approached.
The friendly way he greeted her told him he had worked there for quite a while. Hell, he probably made more than him sucking c**k.
“How was your weekend?” She smiled as if sharing a secret only the two of them knew. She held his eyes for a moment, a look passing between them before she glanced down at her computer at his profile and information.
“Italy was beautiful,” he gushed as a smile spread across his face. “I fell in love with the place.”
“Was it your first time there?”
“Yep.” He nodded as he watched her fingers dance across the keyboard. “Adam made sure it was a memorable one.”
“I bet he did. He’s a handsome man isn’t he? He came in here the other day to talk to Mr. Covington and all the women in the office were giggling like school girls. They were whispering about him long after he had left.”
“He is, indeed. Handsome, charming, rich, an all around great guy. I love spending time with him when he calls on me.”
Madeline pulled out a drawer and took a stack of money out, counting out the guy’s cash. “There you are. Are you heading home now?”
“Nah, I’m spending the night with Craig. He sent me a request earlier today. He wants a cuddle buddy for the night. I don’t mind. I love his condo. For a night I can pretend it’s mine.” They laughed as he walked toward the door. “Have a good night.”
“You, too,” she called after him and then turned to Colton. “Next.”
As Colton stood and headed toward the desk another guy walked into the office and sat down. Colton gave him a nod, then turned his attention to Madison.
“How was your first few dates?” she asked as she pulled his profile up on her computer screen.
“They were pretty good. No complaints,” he answered. In fact, he had no complaints at all about the job. He didn’t mind going on dates, getting to know new people, f*****g hot chicks, and being a counselor for older women who had lost their husbands. It was all money to him, and he needed a lot of it.
“Good. Adalina seemed to like you. She called in personally to tell Mr. Covington that you were a great guy.”
“Yeah?” He grinned and stuck his hands in his pockets. “I liked her, too. I had a lot of fun with her.” Fun coming all over her face. Multiple times.
“That’s what she said about you.” Madison smiled as her eyes met his. “Cash or check?”
“Cash, please.”
Madison reached into the till and counted out two hundred and twenty dollars. “There’s your money. You can find a payout slip in your email box. It will tell what was taken out and why. It will also show your tips.”
Colton nodded and scooped up his cash. “Thanks, I’ll see you later.”
Colton waved and headed toward the door as she called up the next guy, making small talk with him as she pulled up his information. Just as he was about to leave the office Colton paused and got his wallet out so he could put his earnings away. As he shoved it back into his pocket his attention was pulled to Madison as she counted out the guy’s money.
“Fifteen hundred even.”
Fifteen hundred? Colton’s eyebrows rose as he glanced back at the two of them. How the hell did that guy make that kind of money? Whose face was he coming all over and how could he get the hook up?
“Thanks,” the guy said and swiped the money off the counter. “See you next week.”
As he walked out Colton followed, trying to keep from looking like a stalker. He needed to figure out a way to ask him about what he did to make that kind of money. He didn’t want to pry, but he was in dire need of that kind of cash. For that kind of pay he could be nosey. As they both entered the elevator he glanced over and struck up the conversation. “Hey, I’m new to the company. Do you mind if I ask you a few questions?”
“Sure.” The guy turned toward Colton and leaned against the elevator wall.
“How did you make fifteen hundred dollars in the last week? I’ve been on a few dates and only made a couple hundred. What’s your secret?” Colton watched the guy as he shifted in place.
"What kind of jobs are you taking? Dates with women?"
“Yeah, dates with women. All ages, doesn’t matter to me.”
“There you go. That’s what you’re doing wrong.”
“Going on dates with older women? That’s wrong?” Colton gave him a confused look as he watched the guy take his phone out of his pocket and open the Casual Companion app.
“No, going on dates with women, period. That’s what you’re doing wrong. I date men.” He turned his phone around and leaned in, showing him the date requests for the M/M section. “There’s always more requests than can be filled. Look, right now if I wanted to, I could go to the Upper East Side and make five hundred bucks for the night.” He showed him the request and the payout. “Plus tips.”
Colton laughed and shook his head. "Yeah, that's not going to happen. I'm not gay."
“Neither am I,” he said with a shrug. “I don’t f**k these guys. They take me out, wine and dine me, and look at me. The most I’ve done is let some guy jack off to me. I mean, dude, I grew up with five brothers. I’ve seen so many c***s it doesn’t even phase me.”
As they both laughed Colton got a good luck at him. He was athletic looking, clean shaven, had a good body, and was pretty attractive. They actually looked a lot alike. The guy didn’t look gay, but he guessed that’s what gay guys liked. “So you don’t f**k these guys?”
“Never,” he answered quickly as he shoved his phone back into his pocket.
“And it’s just like any other date? With a chick?” Colton asked.
“Yep.”
The elevator opened and they both walked out into the lobby of the building. “Thanks, man. You’ve given me a lot to think about.”
The guy nodded and reached out to shake his hand. “I’m Aiden.”
“Colton.”
“I started off the same way, Colton. Thinking I could make a living dating women. The gay market is where it’s at. You’ll never go hungry fishing in that pond.”
“Right, I just don’t know about the gay s**t. Touching, kissing, hugging, and f*****g. I won’t lie, the idea of some guy forcing himself on me makes me nervous as fuck.”
Aiden laughed softly and nodded. “They can’t force themselves on you. And it’s not gay s**t until you make it gay s**t. Let me put it to you this way... most guys act gay as f**k with their friends without thinking twice about it. Ass grabbing, teasing, winking, s****l innuendos… all that s**t. I mean, you probably go to the gym right?” When Colton nodded he continued. “How many guys have you seen naked? How many guys have seen you naked in the locker room? You pull your d**k out and piss beside strangers. It’s not gay until you make it mean something. It’s not gay until there’s intent. So don’t let it mean anything. You don’t have to f**k anyone and damn right you can say no. I have before. There are so many subtle ways to tell a person to f**k off without being rude. It’s redirection, really.”
Colton thought about that for a long moment and then nodded. “Right, I think I get it now.”
“As long as you give them something they believe is intent, they’ll eat it up. A brush of the arm, sitting a little closer than normal, lingering eye contact, a slight touch of the hand. s**t like that goes a long way.”
Colton’s mind raced a mile a minute as he thought about everything Aiden had just said. “Thanks man, I appreciate all of your help.”
“No problem. Let me give you my number. If you have any questions you can call me. If I don’t answer, I’ll get back to you when I can.”
After they exchanged numbers they went their separate ways. The entire ride home Colton thought about what Aiden said, turning it over and over in his mind. If he planned on making any money at this job he would have to broaden his horizons and open his availability to include gay guys. Aiden was right, he didn’t have to sleep with anyone. It wasn’t part of the job description and they weren’t being paid for it, either.
When he got home he grabbed a water and sat down at the kitchen table where his laptop was already set up. Colton knew that with the two hundred dollars in his pocket and the two fifty he’d get from Dave on Friday, he would still be short on the rent. Not to mention he was falling behind on all of his other bills. He had to do something, and he had to do it quick.
Mason and two of his friends walked into the kitchen, pulling his attention away from his email. “Hey,” he greeted.
“Hey. We’re going to play games for a few hours. Is that okay?” Mason asked.
“Yeah, yeah, go ahead. Have fun,” he said, throwing a smile in Mason's direction.
“Okay.” Mason’s eyes connected with Colton’s as he walked across the room, holding them until he disappeared into the living room with his friends.
“Hey,” he yelled after them.
“Yeah?” Mason came back to see what he wanted.
“Do you think gay guys would want to date me?” Colton grinned as he asked that question, already knowing what Mason’s answer would be.
“f**k yes.” Mason didn’t hesitate to give his answer. “f**k to the yes. I’ve been telling you that for years. Hell, I’ve been trying to get a piece of you for years.” Mason wiggled his eyebrows and grinned. “Why?”
Colton ignored his enthusiasm, but he couldn’t help the ego boost he got from it. “I’m thinking about opening my availability to gay guys.”
Mason gawked at him for a few seconds in silence. “Are you f*****g kidding me?” He was shocked, and it showed all over his face.
“No, I need to make a lot of money before Monday just to pay rent. I need about five hundred to pay my other bills and a few hundred to get groceries. I’ve spent everything in my savings. I need cash, and according to a guy I work with, gay guys are where the money is at in this industry.”
“f**k yes it is. I’d do it,” Mason said, encouraging him.
“But you’re gay. Of course you would do it.”
"I still think you should do it," Mason suggested with a shrug.
“I’m thinking about it. I mean, seriously thinking about it. The guy I met today in the office made fifteen hundred dollars in the last week.”
Mason whistled and shook his head. “Wow, maybe I should work there. Think I could be a fuckboy?” He danced around a little and then paused, posing in a sexy position.
Colton growled and glared at him. For some unexplainable reason, Mason being a fuckboy didn’t sit well with him. “I think you could. Should you... no.” He turned and looked at his computer, trying to hide his irritation over the topic.
“Aww, don’t be a grumpy bear.” Mason came over and rubbed his back. “Don’t worry. I won’t be anyone’s fuckboy but yours.”
Colton grumbled at him and chased him away so he could concentrate. Maybe he would try it. What was the worst thing that could happen? If someone tried to f**k him, he’d knock them the f**k out. He wasn’t down for the p***s and it didn’t matter how much money they offered as a tip, he wouldn’t take a d**k in his mouth and there was absolutely no way in hell he would take one in his ass. No ifs, ands, or buts about that s**t.
No f*****g way.
